That 338LM would be my second gun, were I able to have two available. I'm one of the younger guys too, just a year older than you.

Probably a desert tactical arms scout recon suppressed.
i've been in love with the .338 lm for about the past 6 months or so. i suppose i pick that instead of the typical .223-.308 semi auto like most everyone else because i picture more of a guerilla warfare type deal in a red dawn type scenario where i've made a fortification to get people from long range.

yes but you have to watch out for those guys wearing vests with 3 trauma plates on them, your 338 lapua will be rendered useless!
damn those guys and their 3 trauma plates :fire: i suppose in my scenario a .300 mag would suffice, but i could still get the guys with only 2 trauma plates with the .338 :D

love this topic

a H&K G36k assault rifle and an IMI .50AE Desert Eagle mk XIX(6"barrel, blued-black finish) loaded with hollow points.

Reason for chosing G36K
the Kurz model of the G36 assault rifle is in my opinion more durrable. the G36 itself is a wonderful gun, the only flaw being it's obvious lack of non-scope sights. it is simple to take appart and clean, and in a prolonged battle if the gunk gets in the action, the whole thing can be removed and replaced on the spot by simply removing two pins. and the foldable stock combined with the shorter barrel length makes it perfect for clearing a room, or at least getting heads down, when your our of grenades. the G36 itself is a fully customizable rifle since disassembly is such a breeze. you can also equip it with a grenade launcher fore grip. it also has an optional 100 round double drum magazine. the normal 30rd box magazines lock together, so you could lock them together or lock them to custom-made slots on your uniform for easy mag changes.

Weight- ~3lbs
Length- 33.9in stock open, 24.9in stock folded

Reason for chosing the Desert Eagle
the reason the Desert Eagle isn't a military issue weapon - it's too powerful.
that's what i'm going for. the Desert Eagle is an ingeneous handgun. Bernard C. White sure new how to make a fine piece of art that not only looks beautiful, but functions well. the mk XIX Desert Eagle is the most recent incarnation, even though it is at least 10 years old. the reason i opted for power is if i'm down to just my side arm, i probably need it. in a battle zone with you and your pistol you also need a good indicator that the target is down i figure load the baby up with hollow points- and problem solved- when everything goes red they're down and out no matter where you hit them (hollow points also ensure that any friendlies behind the bad guy just get a shower and not shish-ka-bobbed by the round). also if i pull out my side arm i'm probably NOT VERY HAPPY at the moment. the Desert Eagle would be the perfect gun to show those enemy grunts what i think of them. there's also the intimidation factor. the enemy's probably seen their buddies get holes punched in their head by enemy pistol fire, but seeing their buddies' head get blown to bits by a pistol, that's called instilling fear in the enemy. (mainly though- i'm 6'1" and i have big paws- Desert Eagle fits perfectly, like a glass slipper)

Weight- 4.4lbs
Length- 10.75in
Barrel length- 6in
Action- gas blowback = NO LIE!!
Caliber- 50 Action Express
Mag Capacity- 7rds
Range- 200m
Sights- Blade & Notch -optional scope
Rifling is polygonal- septigonal i think
Bullet weight- ~300g
Muzzel Velocity- ~1380fps

No Ammo Concerns? Glock 22 and the Cutdown version of the M14...but M4s and Sigs are proven as well.

untained dont worry they have them in their breif cases so they can stop headshots, ask anyone who is a member of a tactical entry team at any large retailer

Did not think of body armor. I wonder if some good old GI armor piercing incindiery might make their day?

coolness, seems like most folks are choosing the m14 platform with a glock or 1911. the ar15's pretty much up there too.

S&W Model 645 .45ACP and an M1A SOCOM variant.

My Model 645 has been exceptionably reliable and accurate for all the years I've had it.

I would have picked the Garand, but I think the detachable magazine gives the M1A the advantage for me.

I think that was the most robust piece of sarcasm I've ever read! Hmm, the AR-15/M16 took a major modification to make sure it worked right (forward assist). Oh, and a piston was added a few years ago to make it better, though not everyone has jumped on that bandwagon. Hmm... Sig 550... working unchanged since... the 1970s I believe? Oh wait, they added a picatinny rail upgrade in the last 5 years... Also, the AR platform, while in use by our military has got to be cleaned almost constantly in sandy environments, even when not being fired, to maintain reliability. The 550 is built like an AK, just shake and shove. I could wow you with some major technical details on why its better (better production standards, more robust springs resulting in a more robust firing system, better bolt construction, piston reliability from the get go), but I'll hold off on that today... it is Saturday after all...

Glock 17 and an AK-47... someone's gotta being laying down fire while you guys are clearing jams and fixing malf's!

glock 17 or glock21 at pistols , at longarms : mossberg or benelli shotgun: if it has to be a rifle: AK;steyr AUG or G36:

I could do worse than these: Ak47 w/Z-point, Custom 10mm 1911, Randall 14

[/IMG] I am considering using a S&W 500 with 2 3/4 inch barrel with reduced loads, say 375gr @ 1100fps. This should drop any human target instantly, even if wearing body armor. The S&W 500 is amazingly accurate. I fired a 6 inch group with mine at 50 yards, standing, two hands. It should be about the best "combat" handgun in close quarters. One would have to keep a good supply of ammo on hand, but then how many shots from a pistol do you ever fire in defense when you have a rifle at hand?

Now that they are an all-volunteer force, the military has decided that they can save money and encourage more people to enlist by giving them a little freedom of choice with regard to weapons. They have also found that morale is better, and soldiers tend to perform better, having more confidence in weapons of their own choice. They also shoot better, and maintain the weapons better. It is a win-win-win for the military, and those who serve. :neener::p:evil::cool:
