Which pistol/rifle combo would you carry into war?

hey guys. if you could carry only one pistol and one rifle into battle. what would they be?

sorry, i should have been more specific on this issue. the weapons in question would be ones that you would trust in any environment, in any region on earth. also in any type of war (guerilla warfare, urban battles, jungles, desert....)

and these are weapons that you can pic, not what is issued by any military, and ammo is not a concern as it would be provided freely.

what would your "all around" weapon choices be

i think i would carry my glock 19 and an ak47, just due to simplicity and reliability.

those guns will still function in the sandy middle east or the wet/humid jungles of southeast asia.

Urban : 1911 & AK47 or M14

But really, my any time and place load would be M14 & 1911. Its a little heavier with mags and ammo but its hard to beat a .308...

Depends on the where the war will be held at, and who I would be fighting for. As a general default, an AK-47/AMD-65 and a Glock 17/21SF would be hard to beat for an all out war combo.

W. German Sig Sauer P226 in my holdster, with a nice 12ga Tactical shotgun loaded with 00 Buckshot, and some slugs on the side rack! (a couple grenades couldn't hurt either, but that's probably for another forum!)

I use my Kimber 1911 for everything, and I would take it to war tomorrow if I were allowed. (Which I'm not.)

The rifle is a little bit tougher. This is why I asked which war. Most of the time I want an M-4. It doesn't matter if an AK handles dirt better, because I would clean it just as often anyway. My SHTF rifle is an SKS I have thoroughly Tapcoed and Tech-Sighted. If I needed a specific DMR rifle, I would look for an AR-10. I'm not a sniper, and I have found I can shoot AR-10 style rifles much better than M-14 style rifles.

Without a specific reason to use something else, I would just take an M-4.

The ones they issue me. I trust the R&D guys to give me what I need it may not be the ones I want but it's what I need.

i have gone to war a few times, and i wish i could have picked what i carried. and as an infantry guy i normally don't get a sidearm, however if i had a choice i would take an ar/ m4 why? that is what i am the best with, and what i have been training and shooting with for years, and that training is not just limited to the army. i know the system better than any other so that is the route that i would go with.

as far as a sidearm i would take my xd service model. why? it is reliable, accurate, and after 16,000rds it is just as good as the day that i got it. as well there is no other handgun that i shoot better/ feel more comfortable with.

i would win against all you guys if we were on opposing sides... cause i would take my mosin nagant 91/30 run out of ammo i'd have a formidable long range war club. seriously though, i would probably take the cz 550 magnum in .338 lapua... if ammo wasn't an issue, if it was the savage 300 mag, and my cz p-01 for pistol needs.

what kind of war?

socom 2 / fn 5.7 for urban warfare.

FN 5.7: 1.6 lbs loaded, 20 round mag, half the weight and half the recoil of 9mm, and armor piercing at 300m.
