Thinking of getting a smaller 9mm for use as a CCW, nightstand gun, and for general fun (as though there were many guns out there that aren't). I'm not looking for a match pistol, nor am I looking for a deep-concealment gun. I've narrowed it down to the few listed above, so whatever y'all suggest is appreciated. :)

I don't see anything listed in your post, so I'd have to trot out my usual - go look, feel, and see what feels best to you. I would personally reccomend a CZ PO1 or CZ PCR, two outstanding 14 round deocking DA/SA autos that won't break the bank.

i would go with the xd, i have 2 and i love em, i have a service and a sc model. you have the service model listed but if you want a "smallish" pistol the sc can hand right there with the service as far as performance goes out to about 15yds. in the accuracy department. but they are exactly as reliable as the service models, no a problem out of either one of em. plus with the mag sleeves you can get the service model capacity in the sc frame, a finger extenstion was needed for me to be comfortable with the sc and i couldn't be happier.

I'm going to vote for the two that I've owned:

- Glock 26 - Small, reliable, easy to shoot, good magazine capacity, reasonably lightweight, uses standard 9mm Glock mags.

- Kahr CW9 - Smaller, thinner and lighter than G26. Easy to shoot. Reliable once you get past the break-in period.

My current everyday carry is a Kahr P9.

I voted for the Glock but you have to remember that when you add the +2 extension you made the grip the same length as a G19.

For a great CCW and solid reliability and accuracy get a HK P7. Tops in reliability, very thin and compact and the best trigger out of the box.

Do yourself a favor, look at Bersa's offerings before settling, I'm a happy new Bersa owner.

Star Firestar. A little heavy but always works and feeds anything that says 9mm with ease. No longer made but availability is good.

From your list, the SIG 225/p6 stands out - mostly because they are a great value right now with all the surplus ones on the market.

If you don't mind the weight (they are heavy for the size) I like the P7.

From your list, I'd pick up one of the P6s from Aim surplus for $260.

I voted other. My other is the P-11. When I was looking for a small 9 I purchased the Kel Tec P-11. Cost was NOT a factor. I wanted something reliable, small and light in weight and the P-11 meet these requirements. My P-11 has NEVER missed a beat and I've got in excess of 600 rounds through it. Don't get caught in the higher priced equals better. Yes the finish may not be be as nice as a Colt, Smith etc. but it goes bang when the trigger is pulled. Also consider the next purchase to a full sized handgun for your house gun but even better a AR-15. Thats my opinion and others mileage may vary.

I voted for the Kahr CW-9~!

I have one, and its light and perfectfly balanced. At the range, it did not have
one bobble of any kind. I use it for IWB, and some pocket carry when wearing
pants {or shorts} with deep pockets. A well made firearm, that has proven to
be reliable~!~;) :D
