-Age: 25
-Profession: US Army Paratrooper, 82nd Airborne Division
-Thanks to the military's somewhat oppressive rules on firearms ownership on post, I don't have as many guns as I would like, however my job allows me access to some really fun weapons, so my needs are somewhat satiated. Have my bachelor's degree, and working on my master's, so hopefully when I get out of the military I will be able to secure a job that pays me enough to buy whatever I want, within reason, of course :)

I'm 59 years old and reading these posts made me think. I have so many guns I can't honestly say how many I own. I think that's good.

I am 48 years old.

Executive Director of a Non-Profit Organization.

Married with two sons in college.

Calendar wise: 51
Maturity wise: 19
Feel like in the morning: 71
Wife says I act like:9 or 10

Analytical research chemist in Neuroscience.

Every purchase is a investment for my wife (I gotta remember to leave the actual value of each weapon so she does sell them for what I SAID I paid for them;) ).

Oh, allright. I'll play too....

Me = 33 y/o white male. Married for 11 years. No kids, ever. 4 dogs (3 boxers and 1 Doberman) we call our fur-children. As the name implies, I like punk music. Currently reliving my Misfits obsession. One of my friends dubbed me the "punkermonkey". I should really thank him for that. :scrutiny:

I am currently a Sales Executive for a structured wire and cabling company in Anaheim. I am waiting patiently to be scheduled for a CDC academy which I hope to pursue as a career.

On a personal note, I just ran out of space for rifles in my gun safe and am forced to purchase only handguns at this time. And I was planning on getting one of those spiffy Savage .17 HMR's in bolt action... Oh well.

Fair Trade, Okay?

Question first for GirlWithAGun: Since women appear to be more interested than
guys in social deals, please explain what all's in your head about this 'cause you're in a mostly male forum (and welcome here, don't get me wrong).

I'm 49, married twice 7yrs + 24yrs gives me 31 years veteran status.
2 kids by this marriage only (the 24 year one so far). 10 year old boy and 14 year old girl shoot, as does my wife, not because I goad them into it. I just ask if they wanna go to the range with me and if they want to, cool, if not, that's okay too. We do fishing the same way.
Currently unemployed, was a technical contract consultant for computer firm 'til righsized. Master's degree in business plus 2 years postgrad college. US Army vet, combat engineer sergeant 3 years between Vietnam and Gulf Wars.

Not "unlimited means" for firearms but hey, it's a priority thing. You might conclude that since a lot of us look at it that way, we DO a LOT of chatting and research before we invest in another one, hence all this posting activity. Um, there are a few dozen firearms around here, I don't count them anymore, but philosophically believe a man should have a number count of firearms at least equal to his age. I keep up with the count. Been shooting 44 years now (yeah, started when 5, never looked back) and inveterate reloader for 34 years.

Okay, that's enough to start your master's thesis on social and behavioral traits of shooters. Cough it up now and tell us about yourself.

26 yrs old. Not married but have a GF. Run my own farm and buy a new gun every couple months probably. Have my own range set up in the field out to 500 yds and will go further when I'm able. HS and college graduate. Have an associates in Buss. managment.

26 years old...

...SBM (that's single black male :) ) not married (yet), no kids (yet), no pets, and my car = paid for.

I work as a carpenter/laborer while trying to get my own business going.
My girlfriend of 4.5 years is a full-time college student, so both of our incomes are not that great at the moment.

I pay for my apartment, utilities, food, of course gas is $3.10/gallon now, and I smoke cigarettes... Cell phones and birth control aren't free either, but they're still cheaper than kids! Thankfully, other than that I don't have much to pay for. Hell, now that I think about it, that's enough!

How do we afford guns? By not trying to keep up with the Jones' :D

I cook, so that helps (not having to go out to eat), and other than cable, phone and internet, we don't have very many luxuries. I guess the answer in short would be that we don't spend money on stuff like the newest and latest designer clothes, fancy restaraunts and movies, and we don't drink except maybe twice a year. We burn our CD's, and wait for the new movies to hit HBO. We sacrifice those things so we can buy guns and ammo, and go shooting as much as possible.

Well worth the trade-off, IMO.
Much better than spending all my money to get fat and drunk, and watch movies... like my idiot friends who think I'm silly for buying guns :D

well since some have mentioned the meaning of their online name Ill explain mine also.

I love cuban coffee, even being a gringo I make better coffee then most latin cafeterias. But there is a Venezualan cafeteria run by a family I visit sometimes to get a colada.I have long hair and they started calling me "lionking" lol!
So I kinda liked it (Ive been called worse) lol! so now when I visit them I greet them with a lion ROAR! instead of saying hola or hello...

36, Married, Currently unemployed.

The few that I have were purchased when me and my Wife teamed together in our early Truck Driving carrer. I mess those days, $120,000 combined income.

This is me

I am 26, self employed doing what is in my signature. My gun of choice is my kimber of course and I am from California which makes it hard to truly enjoy the rights that we should still have but soon I will be in Texas an hopefully happy.

About me

Age 63, retired social worker, child abuse investigator. 7 years in US Navy during Vietnam, life member of VFW and life member of Vietnam Veterans of America, member of NRA, happily married to a woman who hates guns. I sold a few .22s I had 20 years ago. Did nothing with guns for that 20 years. Early 2006 I renewed my lapsed love of guns and now have 7 .22 rifles, a 45-70 trapdoor replica, a Ruger New Vaquero, and now shopping for a 9mm autoloader. All of this in 7 months. However, I will slow down on the gun buying pretty soon. I can't afford to buy $2-3000 worth of guns each year of my life but I am just catching up a bit right now. Moe

jeepmor,

36, Integration Engineering Technician...fancy word for Intel Engineering secretary. Yep, another Intel bloke, you can hold it against me, I don't mind.

tagname, self explanatory.

About my gun habit, just started to tire of beef, thought I'd give hunting another try after 20 years in the city and I'm really enjoying shooting. Bought some pistols for HD and camping pillow companions. Hunting will fill the gap between summer and snowboarding season and keep me outside where I love to be.

How do I buy them, I have a decent income and pretty low debt, wife is working again, which helps a lot on the expendable income front. Got back into guns when I realized that it's a basic freedom that our government is bent on taking back from us. Wanted to join the largest army of arms owners on the planet...the American Public:D...so I did. I just wanted to be more than a 22LR member, so I started buying rifles and handguns, have a few now, all with a specific purpose, hunting or defense, but really, just long distance paper punches. Probably won't buy but one more rifle in the near future. I need one for my wife this hunting season. Beyond that, I'll probably get some shotguns and start bird hunting if it doesn't cost more than my fishing habit which is cranking up since a great small boat fell in my lap for one of those, "can't turn it away" pricetags.

Also, no kids after nearly 20 years after high school makes it a lot easier to justify spending money on myself. If I had children, my toy budget would be substantially lower. Especially if they ate food like I did as a kid.

I'm 19--6' 150lbs, single (working on that), I work at Dick's Sporting Goods (gun dept. in the #1 Gun dept. for the entire chain--wheee!), and am a student at Hillsdale college. My check goes towards guns, ammo, and gas--only bill is a Cell Phone, so I'm "spending while I can". And I"m definitely a gun-right's advocate, and "spreading the joy" to my friends is a top priority. Don't smoke or drink, or anything stupid--I'm a responsible gun owner.

Drive a Jeep, and generally love "classic" things.

I got into the habit "on my own"--self taught. A love of military history will do that to you, as well as a fascination with weapons of all sorts (ballistas, anyone?). I buy a new gun about once every 7 months or so, but since the "blaster" categories are now filled, I'm looking into the nice stuff that'll last the rest of my life.

Regards, Eightball

I'm 17....until November 4th, so everyone buy me lots of pistols since I can't. :)

Still in school, so yep...not much of a job. I think I might work full time for a year after highschool to save up money before I go to college.

I'm not interested in any romantic relationship, so I look forward to freely spending my money. :neener:

25, grew up (well sorta) hunting and skeet shooting. married, two daughters, two cats ( dont laugh their my wifes), and a mortgage. I manage a field office for a telcomm company, get a quarterly bonus that determines my gun purchases for the year. Havent bought much this year just a little 10/22, doing some home remodeling. Currently taking night classes at local college towards CJ degree. Wife manages a retail store so we do alright. Oh and have the luxury of a 45 acre farm to shoot at (when I feel like driving all the way up there) so all I have to say to you range guys is :neener: . My next purchase I want to be a AR of the M4 type. Anybody got one for sale?

i afford guns by 1. buying my wife shiny metal aka jewlery or 2. picking a firearm that my wife likes

I am 19, and a college student at UT San Antonio. I am starting my second year next week, and I cant wait to get back. I have a wonderfull apartment set up with a good friend.

I have a ridiculously sexy and wonderfull ethnic-pakistani girlfriend I hope to see again some day. However, her and her sister and a friend are tourning Europe, have been gone 2 weeks and come back next week. Problem is, they fly out of London :uhoh: :banghead: :cuss: so maybe I should just move on? :p Just kidding, out 1 year anniversary is in September!

I am a jack of many trades. I am known as a roofer and electornic technician to a Houston-area school district in the summers and winters, and am known as a conservative metrosexual working in expensive luxury department stores during the school year.

My gun pruchases are few and far between. I am up to about 7, plus a gun safe. First handgun is on the horizon, followed by a Texas CHL. Which means I have to get my motorcycle this year before its too late!

31, single, project manager for a commercial/multistory residential contractor. Currently building a 14 story 64 unit condo on the beach.

I've been streamlining my collection. All rifles are AR platform and all handguns are 1911 platform. This means that I sold several lesser handguns to have one Ed Brown, and several lesser (and one not-so-lesser) rifles to have three Colts. My original goal was to have two pistols and two rifles, but I think that goal has shifted to 3 of each.

It feels good to be cured of that "gotta stuff the safe" mindset.

I'm SWM seeking BGs

Single white male seeking black guns. No kids. Never married. Have cute steady girlfriend though...

Have three ferrets, VP of PR/Resource Dev. Company for my day job.

VP of regional firearm rights org (Guns Save Life) / editor emeritus of GunNews as my second and third jobs. Practicing personal protection instructor for not quite ten years now for my weekend gig.

I can buy whatever I want whenever I want, to some degree of moderation thanks to a lack of wife / kids. Just don't have time to shoot 'em as much as I'd like!

Looking into my crystal ball, I see a XD45 and a RRA full-size AR in my future probably before Christmas next year.

I like things that go BOOM.

just started in the hobby this past November and didn't fire my first round till Feb. and now I'm gazing at a .50 cal even though there are other things to do with that money.

I'm told that I'm obnoxious, reprehensible, disagreeable and infamous according to some of our local politicans. Seems they don't like my questions. My favorite question. Where is the money coming from to pay for this?
