Not really a BUG, but I have carried a Colt Police Positive in .38 Special. It was made in 1938. Still has 95% original finish and shoots great.

My primary carry gun in the summer here in a 1968 colt cobra in like brand new shape. I might be adding a 1953 model also my local shop has one and I might just buy it as I like this gun that much.

Old Guns

Have carried on various occasions...
A commercial 1911, circa 1921
WW2-era USGI 1911s dating from 1942-1945
A 1970 manufacture M-58 Smith & Wesson wheelie.
A 1971 manufacture Colt LWC.

At present am carrying a Frankengun Combat Commander clone.
Fugly, and draws a few chuckles when in the presence of the
semi-custom crowd...but she runs just fine.:D

Fuff...Touche'!

My father's HD gun is a 5" skinny barrel S&W MP (model 10) from 1938.
His carry gun is a 2" S&W MP from 1953 or 1954 (I forgot).

In the quick search box find "1908 Pocket Hammerless .380 ACP" which will take you to the 1908 page. 4 red buttons. Far right red button says "Production dates".
The other buttons yield some interesting info too, particularly the "Photos and Info".

I have taken to carrying my 2" Smith M&P circa 1951 as a bug. It's primary role however is my tackle box/fishing vest gun. I had a little work done to it to insure reliability and I dont shoot it a whole lot (25 rounds/month) due to it's age.

I also take a 1917 Smith in 45LC on hunts with me. It gets shot regularly despite its age. Most accurate handgun I have ever fired.

Ask me in about 50 years. ...

Aw, shoot. I almost certainly won't live that long.

Never mind.
