ive been following the 5906 thread and was just wondering who all carries a smith&wesson autoloader ? what kind of ammo do you carry with it? what kind of holster? i just traded for a 5906 and 4006 police trade in ive carried the 4006 for a few days now and really like the gun accurate, reliable ,and i load it with 12 rounds of winchester 180 ranger sxt 's in a safariland paddle holster , the 5906 really impressed me as far as trigger pull in double and single action goes but i only have one mag with it so i wont carry it till i get another or two

The 6906 is one of my carry pieces. Federal Hydra-Shoks in it, and it rides in a Fobus paddle.

Great pistol, accurate as all get-out, light, and small. Just a really nice carry weapon.

I carry S&W autos ... mostly the 4513, 4040 and the 3913.

I also own the 5906 and 4006 that you mnetioned in your post (but I don't carry them).

The 4006 is loaded with Speer GoldDot® 165gr GDHP and Winchester 155 gr. Super-X® Silvertip® Hollow Point alternated every other round. The 5906 is loaded with Speer GoldDot® 147gr GDHP and Winchester 115 gr. Super-X® Silvertip® Hollow Point alternated every other round.

I'll carry a Trijicon/Novak-sighted 6946 sometimes. The mags are filled with 147-grain Gold Dots. I generally will carry a 12-rounder with a 5900 flat baseplate in the gun (for concealment) and a spare 15-round 5900 mag with the 6900 grip adapter as back-up. I use a Galco Scout IWB or a Bagmaster hip pack.

S&W 1006 with fixed sights. Winchester Silvertip 175 gr JHP doing 1290 fps and pushing 650 ft lbs of energy.

Not my CCW weapon but is my primary out in the bush. :D

Greeting's All-

I use to carry a Smith & Wesson model 39-2, stoked
with W-W 115 grain JHP SilverTips; but that was
many moons ago. Nowdays if I carry a 9m/m, its the
West German SIG-SAUER P228 loaded with Federal's
"Secret Service" load.

Best Wishes,

Well, I'm issued both a 6906 & SW99 (.40 S&W) ... and I often carry the 6906 off duty ...

On the other hand, I own several other S&W pistols which I'll occasionally carry off duty (CS9, CS45, 4513TSW, 4013TSW, 3913), as well as a 642 J-frame, which has become my most frequent off duty weapon.

I find it's easier to remain with the same general operating system on my frequently carried weapons, which is one of the reasons I "semi-retired" all of my 1911's to the safe, and only take them out for frequent practice, but don't carry them off duty anymore. (That may change, though, if I'm issued a 1911 in the future). I find it's simply easier to stay with the same basic configuration of weapon for both duty and off duty. The revolver is an exception ...

My issued ammunition is currently Winchester 127gr +P+ RA9TA in 9mm and 165gr RA40TA in .40 S&W ... and I carry either the Winchester 230gr RA45T or Speer 230gr Gold Dot in my .45's. My .38 ammunition has traditionally been one of the different versions of 158gr LSWCHP/LHP +P loads, although I've been testing some of the 125gr +P Gold Dot and 130gr +P SXT .38 loads, and I have some of the new Speer 135gr Gold Dot +P on order (I liked the way it performed in a gelatin test we tried it in last week).

If I wasn't presently issued the Winchester T-Series loads, I'd be perfectly comfortable carrying one of the excellent Speer Gold Dot offerings in all 3 pistol calibers ...

Naturally, I practice a lot with all of these weapons, and some other non-S&W weapons ...

I've been told that I qualify for the "gun of the month" club when it comes to all of the personally owned weapons I have on my qualification list ...

I now pack a S&W 457 .45ACP compact loaded with WIN. white box JHP's. recoil in comfortable and accuracy is good to 15 yrd's. I am really happy with this package, I carry it in a don hume IWB holster and it is easy to conceal.

I carry a 910s quite bit and I love it. Never a failure and eats any ammo. Even wolf. Combat accurate. Federal hydra-shoks for ammo. I carry it in a bianchi shadow II holster which I am also very fond of. I have a bunch of 15rd 5906 mags I use in it. I have hogue rubber grips on it which were a huge improvement.

3913 Carry...

Although I usually carry a Colt Officers .45 or Glock 23, there are times when I carry my 3913. Excellent pistol....conceals easily, and has a lot of standard features that are "extra" on other autoloaders.

908S with holster that came with it from the factory. Some sort of Uncle Mike's Kideex belt. Also, 6906...generic IWB that I have had for a while (not the greatest but it works at least). No problems at all with either.

I used to carry (many years ago) a 4506 in a Miami Classic shoulder rig or a Bianchi pancake-style holster, lately when not carrying my issue Glock 22 I sometimes carry a 4566 loaded with 230-gr. Hydra-Shocks.

Ala Dan and I have something in common, we both used to carry 39-2's with Winchester 115 grain Silvertips. My 39-2 was sold many years ago. But a few years ago I picked up a cherre 439. When I carry this piece, it is stoked with Remington 115 grain JHP +P loads. My usual carry gun is a 640-1, it is just plain smaller and easier for me to conceal.

I have a 4043 that I have on occasion carried. But mostly it's just a house gun it's just too big.

4053 single stack loaded with Win.180gr.JHPs (although I plan to switch to 165gr.GSHPs) in a Rosen ARG style IWB holster with DeSantis belt. I also carry my 1006 from time to time, big and a little heavy but very slim so it carries pretty good. Loaded with 175gr. Silvertips right now but Double Tap ammo is in it`s future. Carried in another ARG style IWB holster. Marcus
