Who Carries at home?

Most of the time.
At home there's G19 in the night stand, 1 in pipe, 14 in mag. 15 in spare mag. LCP in my pocket almost all the time, or next to laptop / on coffee table when watching TV etc.
When I shower/poop/etc the LCP goes with me to bathroom :)
I'm never more than 3-5 yards away from a loaded firearm at all times while at home... be it G19, LCP, wifes P32, Saiga 12, or AR15 :)
Paranoid? Maybe

Almost 24/7. 365 I have my NAA North American Arms Mini Rev in 22lr 1 1/9" barrel on a chair around my neck or at least in my front pocket in a wallet holster made for it. The Para Wart hog is always loaded and where I can get to it, Plus I have a Makarov buried out in the garden in a PVC safe with two full clips.:D

This afternoon we had a tornado warning...radar tracked it as it passed over our neighborhood. No touchdown...no damage. I go to the yard to pick up limb/stick/twig litter. Everything is O.K.

When I checked the E-mail there was a Metro police report about events and arrests in our local area.Very interesting. A Metro Police officer was robbed in his own front yard this week. :what:

Made me Very glad I was carrying this evening. You just never know!

So, yes...I always carry. Very rare to find me without my pistol on me! Need to be prepared. Can't just live your life any more. The BG's are everywhere!

Carrying a gun at home? Oh yeah, I've seen that movie.

"You talkin' to me? You talkin' to me? You talkin' to me? Then who the hell else are you talking... you talking to me?"

I initially started carrying at home to get a feel for where the IWB holster felt most comfortable, and see what prints or hurts.
Now I carry or have my pistol within reach at all times around the house.

The family and I have been here for the past two years, formally of Randolph Vermont(rated a 1 on the scale)
-gimlet1/21

You're the first person (outside of family) I have ever seen mention Randolph. :D

Yup....it may not be ON me.....but it is within arms reach....night stand, coffee table....even in the pool, it is close to my towel.

I'm not old enough to have a pistol. [Unless I could be gifted one, is this possible in NC?] So I keep my shotgun within arms reach at all times.

Always on me or within reach...UNLESS I'm walking into a federal building with 9,999,999 metal detectors and sometimes I don't carry if I'm walking onto a school campus with the same aforementioned metal detectors...If I'm in uniform, obviously, I carry everywhere.

How did yall get your significant other past the initial "worry" about you carrying all the time?

Time.

The initial reaction was genuine hysteria.

And then my grown daughter and SIL got into the act.

I (reluctantly, to save the peace) agreed not to carry around the house when my grandson was visiting.

Eventually they forgot about it, I got a Mika Pocket Holster for my J-frame, and now carry most of the time wherever I am. I do lock it away when we go swimming.

Although this approach is not entirely "honest" - it insures that I'll be able to defend us if necessary. I tried being open and honest and that just upset everybody. Now I just keep it deeply concealed and don't talk about it.

My wife knows and no longer worries about it. Once she realized how important it was to me, and how much effort I put into training, she relaxed.

Nobody else is going to decide for me what I think is prudent and necessary.

I do think that carrying a loaded firearm that is in your direct, 100% uninterrupted control is much preferable to having loaded weapons stashed all over the house - particularly with little ones roaming around.

Funny you ask. At this very moment I have a PM9 on me in a Smart Carry and a 1911 in 45 ACP within 10 inches of my mouse. I'd say that's normal.
My wife is giving the son a bath and neither worries about my guns.

One of the few things that my 7 yr old son actually knows to obey without question ;)
is never to touch a gun without my permission.

I usually don't carry at home. I do always have a least one gun that's loaded and not locked up.

I lock my doors and windows and I have a large dog. I think if someone tried to get in here, I'd have time to get to a gun.

Even sitting on the toilet, or should I say, especially. I don't expect to be attacked, but like many High-Roaders, I have worn the badge and seen what is out there and what can and what does happen. Never seen a prepared person a victim.
