How did yall get your significant other past the initial "worry" about you carrying all the time?
Time.
The initial reaction was genuine hysteria.
And then my grown daughter and SIL got into the act.
I (reluctantly, to save the peace) agreed not to carry around the house when my grandson was visiting.
Eventually they forgot about it, I got a Mika Pocket Holster for my J-frame, and now carry most of the time wherever I am. I do lock it away when we go swimming.
Although this approach is not entirely "honest" - it insures that I'll be able to defend us if necessary. I tried being open and honest and that just upset everybody. Now I just keep it deeply concealed and don't talk about it.
My wife knows and no longer worries about it. Once she realized how important it was to me, and how much effort I put into training, she relaxed.
Nobody else is going to decide for me what I think is prudent and necessary.
I do think that carrying a loaded firearm that is in your direct, 100% uninterrupted control is much preferable to having loaded weapons stashed all over the house - particularly with little ones roaming around.
