Who has a Sig P226? Get in here

Like many on this thread, I own both Sigs and Glocks, and I won't part with either. They're excellent pistols all around. (In the spirit of full disclosure, I don't own a 226, but I'm sure it's typical of Sig's build quality.) For everyday carry, I did switch from my Sig 238 to a Glock 42 and am very happy I did. The Glock is lighter and the ergonomics (for me) are excellent.

Often, I feel like the Glock vs. Sig debate is like arguing which car is better -- Mercedes or BMW. Honestly, most of us would be ecstatic with either.

But other than costing a lot more it doesn't do anything my Glocks don't do just as well if not better. The Sig is a range toy that I enjoy shooting, but it is the Glocks that will get picked up when something goes bump in the night and the ones carried.

This was my experience with my 226 as well. I liked it, and it was fun to shoot at the range, but when I was heading into the woods or grabbing a pistol to take with me on the road, it was always a Glock. In my experience, the Sig was not really a cut above the Glock, as I had come to expect from reading lots of internet lore, it was just different... a product of different requirements and different mass production techniques from an earlier era.

Update:

After substantial fondling of the P226 at my LGS, I've decided to go the P226 route. It feels good in my hand, I like the sights better, and I love having DA/SA. Only downside is I have to wait another week till I have my next paycheck… but I'm hoping it's worth the wait!

Thanks again for all the input guys. I think I'm gonna go with the MK25 model, the one with the anchor on it. For about $100 more I get night sights, an extra magazine, and the extra corrosion resistant coating, whatever that is. Seems like a fair deal for the extra money.

And, you know, in case I ever become a Navy SEAL

P226 is the best duty sized 9mm on the market, but OP please work on your tone. I like the P226 and carry one but you make me not like the crowd that associates me with. Don't come here for a slap on the back for a made choice. Glocks are good, other guns are good, and other opinions are even better.

Any gun that's been shot is used.
