This is a silly thread I know and probably will get deleted but if not just a general curiosity of mine is who here actually names their guns? you see it in movies but it doesn't seem like that many would do so in real life.

Guns are tools. Thats like naming your wrenches.

But I do give you an A for originality!

Well generally I don't, but I have been known to on occaision. Lately I've been calling my Win mod 70 in .243 "Killer"

Dear lord, I can't remember that many names.

+1, heck I probably can't come up with that many names.

But as for my duck guns. My Rem 870 is "Boat Paddle", kind of self explanatory. And my Franchi 912 is "Estwing", as in the hammer company.

Those are the only ones named for me.

My sister named her Makarovs "Vicillie" and "Rasputin."

Myself? I don't name my guns, and I probably wouldn't unless I built it myself. Which I may yet do.

I don't have anynames, but interesting thread! Reminds me in basic, ( we don't call m16's guns, they are addressed as 'my rifle'), this poor guy called his rifle a "gun"
an the DS came unglued, he made the guy run around for a long time yelling..".this is my weapon, this is my gun, this is for fighting, an this is for fun." ...an writing this it accurred some might not know what this is about...his weapon for fighting was held up with his one hand, an guess what he was grabbing with the other...get the picture...I still feel sorry for that guy,..

FLAWED Poll

You should have allowed for more than one option to be chosen.
I would have chosen both, Yes I have, and that I also think it is stupid.:D

I've been contemplating this very thread as I once named my .270 that I deer & elk hunt with every year. After I named 'her', I was done, because as rbernie said, I'd have to keep up with a lot of names.

You should have a less negative "no" response since some of us just think it's silly, but harmless, instead of "stupid".

BTW, the P-12 gets called "Stumpy", but it isn't "named".

Well, i voted stupidest thread ever seen But that is only because i can't think of names good enough to fit my guns!

good thing you spoke up, otherwise I might have been offended :p

I only have 2 guns that have names, I asked my fiancee to grap my gp100 3" one day and she asked was it the big one or the little one (it was next to a super redhawk) and I said its big ones little sister so from then on the alaskan has been big brother and the gp100 has been little sister. nothing fantastic but its easier than trying to get my girl to remember their model names :p

I name some of my guns just for fun.

(I call my Ruger New Vaquero "El Bandito" :p)

bthest86:

Should "The End" be a Mosin Nagant?

Tell you what, I'll trade that underfolder for MY Mosin, and you'll be more accurate. Whatta ya say?

it indeed should be a mosin angant but for those unframiliar with the game would probablly find the name more suiting of an ak.

charlene? as in baltimore maybe? i dunno, fill me in :)
