Beretta CX4 has a plastic hammer and trigger. I know cuz I did a trigger job on mine using my wife's emery board.

No...but I have seen a Glock that lost a fight as a Rottweiler chew toy..

So? I've seen a starter from a Ford truck lose a fight as a Labs chew toy. :D

you trust those for home defense, rogertc1?

What's magical about a home defense situation? If the gun works fine at the range when you test it, why would you logically think it will fail when called upon "for real?"

Well it's not like you're going to find a rifle with a plastic barrel or bolt,

Magnum Research Magnum Lite Rifle. Probably not strictly speaking "plastic" but not steel either.

The Graphite Advantage

The uncannily accurate, patented Magnum Lite™ graphite barrel is exclusive to Magnum Research. The patented uni-directional graphite fibers, parallel to the bore axis results in barrels six-times stiffer than conventional steel. Barrel weights from 13-16 ounces (depending on barrel length) save weight and dissipates heat of to 43% faster than steel. The result is rimfire performance of extreme accuracy.

The latter opinion implies the gun knows the situation it's involved in when being fired.
Actually the later opinion is followed by a smiley, implying that the aforementioned nefarious poster said that in jest. ;)

Well it's not like you're going to find a rifle with a plastic barrel or bolt...
Some of the Henry AR-7s have a lightweight plastic barrel (with a SS liner).

:)

My Ps90 has been flawless and shows no wear. You can see where the plastic hammer hits the fireing pin. There is a mark, but no real wear. This ain't no normal plastic either.

Hey the less parts to rust the better. And most of the good modern plastic weapons are alot more reliable than the wood guns they replace.
