In '75 Sig P220 DA/SA 8 Rd and it's fatter than most 1911s.

Sig did make the double stacck P226&P229

Wasn't the P6 used by German LEOs and imported
here a few years ago. AKA P225 = P6

The SIg 210 of 1950 SAO 8 Rd had the heel clip
for mag release - it wasn't until the '80s? it got
the 1911/BHP mag release at the rear oft the
trigger guard with the 210-8

It depends on which CZ-75 you're talking about.
The original CZ-75 model weighs 1.5 times as much as a P6. IOW it weighs 39 ounces and the P6 weighs 26 ounces.

Clearly I'm talking about the same size weapon, not the full size. There is no difference between the CZ75 full and compact in the width of the mag well, only height and length. The capacity of the compact is 14 rds.

The original poster has said has said a couple of times that the Sig-Sauer P6 is "a wonderful pistol with IMO a deficient 8 round capacity."

To me, that sounds like saying "it's a great pistol except for being the pistol it actually is."

He seems to want a pistol that is pretty much exactly like the Sig P6...except for holding 4-6 more rounds.

I don't think handgun design works like that. If you make a change that big in a pistol design, the pistol you get out of it is significantly different than the pistol you started with, in ways other than magazine capacity. Because if you could increase magazine capacity by 50-75% without significant other changes, wouldn't Sig have already done it?

Maybe I'm talking through my hat. I can understand saying that Pistol X is great except for Feature Y, when Feature Y is something like the sights or the mag release. But the magazine seems far more fundamental to the design of a pistol than those things. Or is that where I am making my mistake?

Monac - I am a huge fan of the P6, and I share your viewpoint and think it completely sound....FWIW

Wouldn't that just be the Sig 228/M11?

aside from the Rolex dealer in the ghetto and the FFL in Florida... care to mention multiple other CIVILIAN incidents?

January 16, 2015, failed robbery attempt. Article doesn't say how many shots the clerk fired, but he was against 4 people with at least 2 armed with guns and firing shot(s). Clerk fired at least 2 shots because 2 of them were hit - it's logical to presume he fired (or perhaps would have needed to fire) at minimum 4 shots to stop the threats if they all needed stopping... it's also reasonable to assume a full hi-cap magazine would not have been enough in this situation.

The need for high capacity surely isn't an anomaly of modern times. High capacity weapons, and sheer numbers of attackers, are not a modern idea.

IMO I'd give the Sig P6 an A if it were high capacity, but as it is with 8 rounds, it's more of a B as compared to 9x19 peers. Not my first choice, but not my last either.

More bullets is better, because you won't want to stop until he stops shooting back. If it takes one shot, all the better, but it doesn't take long to unload a whole 8 rd mag. For him, either.

I have read an account of a pistol grandmaster turned cop. In his first shootout, he shot his revolver empty. His partner said it sounded like a machine gun. He missed all 6.
