Why does .40 S&W suck?

Well, actually mattw, I never tested it. According to what I've heard the .40 has a little less penetration. But if I am correct in saying that then the smaller amnt of penetration is probably too little to notice with good ammo.

These "because its a pistol caliber" replies are irritating. that wasn't his question. We are talking pistol calibers here. Not shotguns. Not rifles. Pistols. I have yet to see a person use a AR-15 or 870 for CCW.

There is nothing wrong with the .40. Nothing. Anything will do the job if you put your rounds in the right places. Even the lowly .380.

NIB SIGARMS P229, a slightly used Glock 23, and a NIB Glock 27. Guess
what? I was able too shot the little G-27 the best. I couldn't not hit the
broad side of a damn barn with the other two~!

It is a fine defense round as are a lot others. I like it because I have always had an inherent dislike for the big lumbering ox. I like my 9 and I don't feel underpowered with +p's, I carry my G-23 predominantly - especially in the summer, but I love my 10mm most which guards my castle next to my 870and I carry in the winter time. Anyone who discounts any of these rounds is a fool.

I feel your pain!

You can tumble 9 and .45 together, but when you throw .40's in, the nine gets stuck in them. The .40's, in turn, get stuck in the .45's. This often happens in the range bag, long before they even get into the tumbler. Never had this dilemma with the 10mm, since they are very easily distinguised by their length.

.40Super/.41 Action Express

I always liked the .40Super and to lesser extent the IMI/.41Action Express.

Triton's .40Super offered great KE(power) and high muzzle velocities. It hit hard and fast. The .40Super also fed well and worked like the .40Smith and Wesson.

The .41Action Express AKA: .41AE had many fans too.

It had great ballistics but never really caught on with US buyers.

I like the .357SIG, it's the best mid level round and feeds like a champ! Most LE shootings say it does well.
I had a Beretta 96D .40S&W from 1997-1999. I used 165gr JHPs and 135gr JHPs mostly for CC/home protection. It fed factory rounds w/o a problem and offered good marksmanship.

I think Dobermans suck. They are smaller and faster then sheperds. But they arent as fast as Malinois. They cant touch a Rott for stopping power. But they are not as aggressive as Dutch sheperds. I think Dobermans answer an un asked question.
