I think they would sell a lot... Why do we have a GSG in 22 LR, but no one is making a 9mm???

    MP5 clone

Cost of tooling up for manufacture would be my first guess. Even though they are excellent weapons, I bet there are not enough shooters that could appreciate even a clone. I'm assuming you are talking about a semi auto version?

Several have made them, including HK, they are not cheap.

    Hello

Lot's of MP5 clones on the market.
I have a Special Weapons SW-5. But, believe me there is nothing special about it. I would love to sell it, but I could never come close to breaking even on the money I've spent on it.
Best to find an HK 94 and SBR it

nothing inexpensive about any clones, was thinking about one but basically gave up seeing how much even a clone is going for.

Are not the first 3 all Todd Baily owned, and world renowned for being the epiphany of junk guns making Lorcins look good,

Vector ain't much better but still good.

Plenty of MP5 clones out there. The problem is most are of pretty crappy quality.

I've owned a Special Weapons SW5 and Vulcan V94, both rank as the worst gun buying decisions I ever made and I've owned many dozens of guns over the years. Needless to say I ditched both the SW5 and V94 after a couple months and lost a good bit of money on each trying to get rid of them.

I own a GSG5 now and I couldn't be happier with it, I don't care if it's a .22 because its cheap to shoot, reliable and loads of fun. Also the GSG costs a whole heck of a lot less than the junk MP5 clones out there in 9mm.

I'd love to see a company produce a high quality MP5 clone in 9mm for a reasonable price but I haven't seen one yet.

Wouldn't a 9mm MP5 clone just be pointless when you can get a MP5 anyway for the costs?

I would prefer the good ole Colt 9mm SMG that they used to make for the DEA over the MP5.

A real Hk imported MP5 gun is around $16-17K (and is a very used gun).

I remember the good ole days of seeing a MP5 hanging on the dealer display for $800 (with a 16" barrel, of course), but that was 20 years ago.

I believe Vector was the only company that produced good clones. but they went out of business.

Based on the info I've gathered over the years, the MP5 is a bit more complicated and more expensive to make then many other semi auto 9mm carbines. Of course there is collector value for MP5 clones, but otherwise there are similar weapons for a much lower price.

In my opinion, for a CQB weapon, the MP5's operating system is totally uncalled for. I'd guess that most in the market for a 9mm carbine really aren't looking to drop a grand for something that will not do anything much more than a half priced alternative.

This looks solid, but after a phone call I made last week, I doubt we will ever see them hit the shelves. Very Unfortunate.

I dont think I've ever heard a good thing about Special, Bobcat or Cohaire. And I've only heard bad about Todd Bailey. As far as Vector.... everytime I hear a good review, I hear nine bad ones thats makes me hesitant.

I can't tell you how frustrating it is. The H&K MP5 is a VERY popular firearm. It's a shame that realistically it would probably only cost 2/3 of what it costs to make an AR, yet NOBODY reliable produces them for a reasonable price. Look at how much hype the GSG5 has brought. If firearms manufacturers were somewhat bright, they'd catch on and jump onto the MP5 bandwagon. I have nothing to do but sit in frustration.
