Why were guns taken from law-abiding citizens in New Orleans?

The Patricia Konie video

FWIW, it was the CHP who gang tackled Ms. Konie. Watching the video, you will note that there was no flooding on her street. None. These officers could have been evacuating people from the severely flooded 9th Ward instead of confiscating revolvers from old women on Magazine St. Ms. Konie still has not had her revolver returned to her. She wants it back.

Update on Patricia Konie

I can guarantee that however irksome some homeowners might have been had they resisted, they are hating the lawyers from SAF and NRA a lot more right now. Those guys are breathing down the necks of the people responsible for the order and making them miserable. Patricia Konie didn't stand much chance in a gunfight in that situation. The fight she is going to bring now will be much more in her favor and a lot more painful to those involved.

Even in a situation where confiscation was both illegal and unconstitutional (state AND federal), it is very, very hard to be the first one to say "no".

I don't know about that. From what I have read here (THR) and in other gun forums seems there are allot of gun owners out there with a SHTF mentality willing to be the first one.

Maybe those authorities have not run across the right person.
