Will my CCW # help me out of a jam?

Bogie I have company ID's often temporary govt ID's several credit cards required for different purchases in order to be reinbursed by my company or whomever I am contracting through. as well as my CCW's, these are not things that leave my person, as they are not easy to have reissued, and must be accounted for regularly (especially the ID's) and the credit cards I need so frequently that they would be more of a hassle than anything else in a briefcase. I do have many of my non essentials and a spare credit card and passport in my briefcase. I may just buy an extra photo sleeve and start keeping ID's in there providing I can find something that wont fall apart or fall out of the wallet. I am still considering having the numbers printed up as a backup as being better than nothing...or at least no worse than nothing. Especially helpful if they are stolen.

not a bad idea...but finding something secure that I can check every week might be tough...the real hard part is remembering to take it out of each rental car every week...I have left so many things in my rental cars...Im telling you if its not on my person...it disappears, I have lost many a pair of sunglasses and cell phone chargers this way :uhoh: :banghead:

Im all for national reciprocity...its federal carry laws that worry me...at least with national reciprocity it takes the states to take it away...with federal level reciprocity it takes one stroke of a pen to completely remove all CCW "privileges"

I keep my CCW permit and my "not a registration, Michigan not safety inspected safety inspection cards" in one of those student ID holders that they issue to college kids... you might try that...

From one Michigander to another I can let you know that you don't need to carry your green cards.

And from MCRGO:
Q: When I registered my pistol I was given a green card. Do I have to have that card with me whenever I have the handgun (e.g. when I go to the range)?
A: Michigan does not have a pistol registration law - it has a "safety inspection" law. Once the pistol has been presented for the inspection, you have complied with the law. The form you are given is a good record for you to keep. It shows that you have complied with the law if that is ever called into question and is a good record to have if the pistol is stolen or you want to sell it. There is no requirement that you have it on your person. Put it in your lock box, or wherever you store other important papers.

Quickdraw...I have thought about it and decided that I would rather be arrested for not having my ccw than risk being seen with a man purse....:p

Like what was stated above about the college ID holder.

I don't have any CPL permits(still waiting).

what about this:

Get a keychain ID college holder. Put your CPL's in that and use a carabiner to atach it to you keys.

I do this with my Jeep key and house keys when I go to customers sites to avoid bulky keys ratteling around.

Also you could go paperless. With debit cards and such and that most business now take them not having cash on you is not that important. with the space saved from not having cash/bills you might be able to squeeze all them permits into your wallet. even if you did have to cash just carry a moneyclip.

I too have suffered from "fat wallet sydrome", as I had my own business and had CCs for both personal and business, gas & other receipts, DL.

My solution: I carried 2 wallets, 1 for business, 1 for personal

I have nothing to add to this thread other than... I wish to use my 500th post to say that this thread reminds me of that Seinfeld episode about George's huge wallet. :p
