So while browsing my local mom and pop shop for pistol powder I ran across a very old looking somewhat rusted can of Winchester 571. Having not heard of the powder I did some research and learned it has been out of production for a while now. I found some old load data in one of my old edition manuals and figured it would be worth a shot for some 38special loads. I went back to the store and asked the clerk if I could check out the can of powder. A jokingly made a remark about it sitting on the shelf for the last 20 years and he smiled and said let me see if I can get you a discount. He came back and said $8.00 out the door. I figured if the powder was contaminated from exposure I would only be out a few bucks paid and left. Got home and surprisingly the can was sealed and loads have been working out great! Now I have another problem. Where can I get more Winchester 571!!!
