Winchester 70 Question

I went to Kittery Trading post last night and felt up one of the new extreme weather models. That rifle is really nice with clean lines. I looked at the box and noticed that it weighed less than the blued featherweight model(same cal and bbl length.) Maybe I'm dreaming but that seems like their marketing a look not fact. The featherweights are really nice to. The 1980's XTR featherweights are slick to, Im a CRF guy.

Nope. That B&C stock is pretty light. I have one in .30-06, and it's every bit as light as they say. Well-balanced, too, and not a "pencil barrel". No excess barrel cooling required.:) Points wonderfully, as does the FWT of course.

With a 2-7x33mm VX-II on Talley Lightweights, I have a full-size .30-06 that weighs 7 1/2 lbs. TOTAL, including scope and rings.

Shot 1 1/4" 3-shot groups at 200 yards off a bipod, on the first day, with my existing handloads that were developed for another rifle.
(Normally, I'm a blue-and-walnut guy, but I wanted something that would really be a no-hassle pleasure to use in the field. This is it.)
