Folks, A new to me model 52 spooked me after getting it out for an annoying squirrel. Inserting the magazine and closing the bolt, the firearm discharged. I was able to easily reproduce the unintentional discharge right away. I am unfamiliar with this trigger mechanism. My intent is to thoroughly clean the bolt and trigger mechanism and try to reproduce this problem. My question is, is there anything I should pay particular attention to during this process?

The Model 52 was designed as a target rifle (and it was and is a very good one) with a fully adjustable trigger. If you aren't sure of what is involved in setting it up, I agree that seeing a gunsmith would be a good idea.
