I have a Winchester Super X2. When it is real cold outside, the firing pin does not seem to hit my 3 1/2" shells hard enough for the shell to fire. I have cleaned the gun and tried different brands of shells. It still doesn't fire sometimes especially on the first shot. Do you have any suggestions?

Remove the bolt assembly and the trigger assembly. Clean them thoroughly by submersion in mineral spirits (paint thinner) for 30 minutes. After they dry, lubricate lightly with an extremely lightweight oil (if any oil at all) such as Birchwood Casey "SHEATH" or Liquid Wrench. These are essentially penetrating oils and shouldn't gum up in cold weather.
