Wal-Mart sells the Winchester 100 round "Value Pack" in .45 ACP (230gr FMJ) for $20 (white box). Anyone have any positive/negative experiences with this particular ammo?

it's supposed to be pretty good, but I heard it was cheaper.

$20 w/ a little change OTD, so yes it is a tad bit cheaper than $20. As for the quality...it seem okay, I'm still working on my first 1000 rounds of the stuff but so far so good.

I've never had a problem with the value pack rounds. I like them more than the Remington UMCs. The UMCs are somewhat dirty.

I have shot thousands of the White Box 9mm rounds, and just put a box of the WB 45 thorugh my Mil-Spec. No problems at all. Good stuff. I really like the 9mm because it's, or seems to be, brass jacketed. The 50 rd Whiter Box's that I have used have had corrosion on the case more often than I would like to see, still works fine though.

Been shooting the Value Packs .45 the majority of the time. No problem, gun actually likes the ammo.

Now for a story, when I first got my P226 I tried out a 100 box of Winchester Whitebox. Worked flawlessly.

Next range session I used PMC for a 100 rounds. The last shot my slide would not lock back.

So, I've been using Winchester White box for all my pistols ever since. The P226 works fine again w/ the WW stuff.

Go for it.

I have used the .45acp and 9mm both are excellent and a real value no problem in my SA 1911 or CZ75 .

I've had no problems with 9mm, 40, and 45 value packs.
The 100 round 40 and 45 boxes are really big!

No problems at all w/ .45 Wally-World value packs. I do have minor feed problems with it in .380 cal, but that's probably due to the .380 Win round having a blunt nose and my .380 pistol having a steep loading ramp.

I've put about 500rds of .45 Win-clean Wally-World value pack ammo thru my Springfield Ultra Compact 1911, and it almost always digests it without complaint. Only problems I've had can be attributed to hand fatigue causing limp-wristing.

I actually love the 9mm WWWWB. I'm going to miss it, now that my wally world boycott has begun. That's okay though, wally world isn't the only place that carries it.

I've experienced the following problems with the WW ValuePacks

1) 4 or 5 of every 100 I find discolored brass.
2) 1 out of 50 will have a goldish orange band about 1/16" wide and about 1/4" up from base of cartridge
3) about a third or so of the rounds have a noticable bulge in the case where the bullet ends - i.e. when the bullet is inserted into the brass at the time of manufacture it expands the case - I've never seen this with factory ammo or hand loads
4) in one instance I had what I believe was a light load - the bullet made it out of the barrel but not to the target which was about 12 yds away
5) in one instance the cartridge case ejected and the brass was coated with a light gray powder

That said - I buy the valuepack ammo because it's cheap and I get to shoot a lot of it without having to spend time reloading. I do reload my own for competition (or use a quality factory load if I get lazy).

Now that finals are over I am going to the range monday to celebrate. In preparation I went to the local walmart and bought a box of 9, .40, and .45 plan on shooting it all up. It will be my first time using it so I'll report back any problems.

Now if walmart would start carrying 10mm I wouldn't have to go to academy anymore. (Academy here has a sign on door to check all weapons) I ignore the sign but don't like to go there unless I have to.

Yeah I was surprised to find some at my usual funshop today... My dad and my brother always give me crap about shooting 9 instead of .45, but this proved to them why I shoot "minor power"-- 100 of 9mm ball was only a few cents more than 50 of .45:neener:

I just retuened from the range and shooting about 50 rounds of it through my CQB.

Works every time. Accurate, clean and cheap, what more could a guy ask for?

I've shot thousands of rounds of winnie white box. Luv the stuff.

Winchester 9mm 100 rd value packs

Walmart 100 rd value packs are my favorite, I noticed sometimes they have
one extra round. They always have some in stock, I pick up a box everytime
because I know I'll be needing more.

I haven't had any trouble with it. I usually prefer S&B because it's cheaper, but the white box stuff is easier to get.

I shoot the .45 white box all the time. I haven't had any problems with it, and it has been pretty consistent for me.
