100-wwb-9mm- $10.70
100-wwb-45-$19.97
100-wwb-40-$16.14

Today, here, these were $14.??, $20.?? and $24.??, for 9, .40 and .45 respectively.

Blazer Brass turned out to be cheaper per hundred. Two boxes of .40, plus Gov. Blago's pound of flesh, came to a few cents less than $20.

I'm going to be accumulating standard ammo as I am able.

lee n field is RIGHT!!! i just got back from there.. WOW i should have bought lots of ammo last week!!!

The manager of the sporting goods in Walmart in Cincinnati told me today the the rifles are going and the ammo will follow soon. Walmart does not want to carry either because it requires a sales associate to help you. They are cutting back on staff. She couldn't tell me when, but said it was soon. Grab up the WWB while they have it.

Walmart still probably has the lowest prices. Get used to the higher prices. No one likes the price increases.

I just bought two boxes of Remington 41 mag (50 round) yesterday for $40 each at Gander Mountain. I don't buy a lot of Remington 41 mag ammo as it tends to be a bit expensive. But I do buy it. It usually runs about $35-$36 per box at gunshops prior to recent price increases. Price had not changed so, I bought the last two boxes that they had on the shelf. I see it is listed as as "seasonal item" on Midway at around $43 now, so I feel good having the extra 100 rounds on hand. I shoot it up, but those two boxes will last me two or four range outings where I shoot a number different calibers. I sure hope PMC gets back into loading ammo again.

So? I already have to run somebody down to tend the sporting goods counter.

I just got off the phone with the WalMart in St. George, Utah. They tell me that they are planing to have ammo for sale for at least the next year.

Our WM won't take out the guns or ammo, they sell way too much. Every time I have ever been in there to buy anything, I go to the SG department, and there is someone there buying a rifle, shotgun, or at least ammo or a knife.

I paid 20 dollars a few months ago for white box winchester at walmart for 100 rounds of .45 acp. Not bad stuff either. It fed through my friends Glock 21 and Sig without a problem.

I can't believe some of the walmarts up north stopped selling guns though, everytime I walk into the walmart in my town which is right down the street really, they always have a rack with shotguns and long rifles. The one over in Crestview (I live on the panhandle of Florida) sells even more guns. I don't recall K-Mart selling any guns or ammo though, I think it was after the whole bowling for columbine thing when Michael Moore had K-Mart stop selling ammo or something. As a result, the K-Mart here is like a ghost town, it's completely empty 24/7. The Walmart is always very busy though.

Just wondering. For those of you living by Walmarts that stopped selling firearms, is there a Target store nearby? Walmart was supposed to being going "upscale" alla Target in the coming years. The one by me stopped selling guns (which I could care less, because they only sold hunting rifles). There's two Target stores nearby.

I was pretty bummed when I went to Walmart yesterday to pick up some WWB 9mm, last week is was $12.88 and I could not get anyone to help me, yesterday there was a guy at the counter but the price went up to $14.65.

There goes the super cheap target 9mm... :(

I noticed that Gander Mountain has not raised it's prices (yet). I stopped by and picked up a 500-pack of Meister bullets since they're the same price there as my dealer price at Midway. I noticed that they still have CCI Blazer brass for $7.99/50

My general opinion, mostly uninformed, is that W-M thinks they can make more money using the floorspace and staff to sell things other than guns and ammo.

The floorspace (locked cabinet) that used to store guns is filled up with airsoft toys now. Sad sight.

Only thing good that came of this is that all the handgun ammunition is now self-serve, no longer locked up.

Last time I got ammo at walmart, its was a few thousand rounds. A case of (10) 9mm valuepacks, another case of (5) .45 valuepacks, 200 rounds of 12 gauge (buck and slugs), and a few bricks of .22...

Although I cleaned them out of 12 gauge 00 buck and slugs, they had plenty of ammo otherwise. Lotsa sporting guns too.

if you have a choice though, would you pick magtech or wwb?
I like magtech, it seems a little hotter. I have trouble finding it locally though.

There's a bright side to everything.

Whenever Wal-Mart was mentioned in a gun forum during the past, there usually were a lot of messages urging people to boycott Wal-Mart for guns and ammo and buy them from local "mom and pop" stores instead.

Their argument was that Wal-Mart was undercutting the local stores and we all should be happy to pay more to support local businesses.

These great thinkers who wanted Wal-Mart out of the firearms business entirely must be very happy. It looks as if that's what is happening. So when you wind up paying significantly more for your ammunition and for "starter" guns like the Remington 870 Express, be sure to say a prayer of thanks to all the people who discouraged buyers from supporting a business that kept prices low.

And when you buy from a local "mom and pop" store run by cranky people who don't know what they're talking about and charge high prices, don't be upset. Enjoy their crankiness, appreciate their ignorance, and pay those high prices while you thank the great thinkers who saw virtue in attacking Wal-Mart.

Let's hear a rousing cheer for the great thinkers. :)

try Academy maybe their Blazer alum cased is cheaper. They also have the Monarch brand brass.
It surely will go up in prices as war in Iraq and Afghanistan continues. Sucks , aye.

14.xx here for 100 pack wwb. they had a 250 box of Remington UMC 9mm for 39.00. UMC tends to be pretty dirty, and I normally don't shoot it, but for now I will have to. I am still waiting on back ordered Fiocchi 9mm ammo, probably 3 weeks before my shipment arrives. Ohh and I was at a Farm & fleet yesterday, they had 100 packs of wwb for 12.20 after a 15% discount. Well they didn't have any in stock, but I was told to check back today.

Wal Mart prices for cheap ammo in the northeast:

45acp $22-25/100 WWB
38spcl (if you can find it) $24/100 WWB
Not sure about 9mm It might still be under $20/100 WWB

Last summer prices were much better. 38 spcl was under $18/100 and 9mm was around $14-15/100 with 45ACP being right around the $20/100 mark.

My pricing might be off but it is pretty close.

You can bet that "Santa" brought me dies and supplies.

Jim
