Just curious friends as to how i did?

Last night me and the wife turned in for bed at about 12:30 am and fell asleep at about 2:30 am i heard a car crashing though trees and woke from a dead sleep, which is funny because my wife didnt stirr and its normally the other way around. I jumped out of bed in my skivys and put my glasses on and ran out on our porch to hear what was going on and could hear voices screaming and yelling. and tires spinning. I ran back into the house and flick on the bedroom light and yelled for the wife to call 911 and threw on a pair of pants my slippers and grabbed my Surefire and my Sig 226 in its holster and headed out side, she threw me the phone and i dialed 911, I slipped my holster ISW. While on the porch i saw a Chevy 1500 come roaring by like it was locked in 4 Low and running at 5K on the tach I could see a white mist cloud envolpe the headlights witch i belived was a punched raditor and the mist though the headlights allowed me to make out the color of the Pick Up TT Tan/Brown and I gave the description to 911. Then continued talking to 911 while on my way to the scene of the accident when I got to my lot line I called out " Is anybody hurt" I recived a reply from up the street from a female Voice "NO" at this time i think they got scared and they jumped in there truck knowing that someone was coming. I stood in the tree's and when the truck got close enough I lit it up with my surefire 6P at about 25 yrds and got the license plate and gave it to 911 along with the decription of a Newer Jeep Grand Charokee Dark blue in color plate S W 4 is what i told the operator. I left 911 go as i didnt know how far my phone would make it. After they passed I continued to walk up to the scene of the accident. I seemed to be the only one that heard the crash as none of my neighbors lights even came on. The Driveway it happened in was easily 200 yrds from my house the house that the driveway belonged to was only 30 yrs from the seen When I arrived at the scene I saw about 4-6 4" jack pine trees completely schear'd off and i noticed a trail of what looked like water on the road. My wife by this time was dress and headed my way with our makeshift first aid kit and some towels not knowing if we needed anything . When I knew there was no one lying at the scene I returned closer to my home and re-dialed 911 and told them it looked like a property accident only that i didn't see anyone laying at the scene. I cleared up some details with the operator and told her my poachlight would be on so the officers would know where i lived and to stop by if they needed anything at 5:00 Am 2 Sheriff's Officers stopped by to tell me that they had caught both trucks about 4 miles from the scene 1 was arrested for OWI and 1 for Absolute Sobrity. I asked the officer if the plate was right and he said no He said it was D N K so I don't know how i came up with the plate that i did...

Okay So thats my story

Just curious what did i do right/wrong? Besides the Plate..

Being awakened from a deep sleep in the middle of the night with a lot of racket, I think you did fine except for the part where you ran outside on the porch unarmed to see what was going on. That could have had a bad ending. :uhoh:

You should always stay on the phone with a 911 dispatcher after you have called them up. They do not like it when you just put down the phone unless there's a good reason.

Other than that, I would've done the same. Just reported all relevant details.

Sucks when your battery dies. . .

My cellphone is my business phone so I keep it fully charged. When I turn it off at night it goes on the charger. I understand that Li-Ion batteries hold up better if you don't completely cycle them; they aren't the same as Ni-Cad batteries. Other than that, no issues, sounds like a good exercise for your thought processes.

Edit: Never mind. Thought you were referring to a cell phone.

Raven Problem was i was on a cordless phone and could not cover the distance to the scene And it seemed that she said she had enough info and was going to dispatch it . Maybe i didnt need to call back just thought i'd tell her no one was laying at the scene.

Anyone know if i can get a recording of the 911 calls? I just would like to see how it really sounded.
