Luke/<*(((><, the anonymous user I quoted in my post signature had been adamant in his position that the scout rifle concept was useless. It's very clear that he just didn't get it. I know the user's name but do not necessarily wish to ridicule him directly.
It is far from a useless concept. I "got it" from Day One, as did others, obviously. I do not reload, yet, so I using various off-the-shelf 150 gr and 168 gr loads to great result. I cannot yet shoot up to this rifle.
Ex-Agoradzo, look also at the Andy's Leather "Rhodesian" shooting sling. It provides a loop just like the CW or Ching, but does not require the installation of the third swivel.
Andy's Leather "Rhodesian" Sling
Here's mine with the flash hider removed, the pic rail removed and with a Ruger polymer 5-round mag inserted wearing an Andy's Rhodesian
I've since added a one-chamber brake (because I had it, and because it looks like a brake from a battle tank) and have acquired two more Ruger 5-round mags. I've put the rail back on to again install my Leupold 2.5 fixed Scout scope. Meanwhile, the ghost ring irons are superb!
My son and I recently went shooting in the desert but with a serious cross wind... to 50 yds it was as if we were shooting on a calm day. Effortless hits! Those soup cans never knew what hit 'em. Hee.
