Worn out polygonal rifling?

As I noted earlier, I had a CZ-82 and I thought the barrel was bad -- until I shot it. I was familiar with Glock barrels, but they have more pronounced and visible lines that can be seen.

The first time anyone, who hasn't read about or been exposed (via the web) to a CZ-82 barrel, they'll probably think something is wrong. Don't be too hard on the dealer. CZ-82s were sort of rare until the last couple of years, and I don't know of any other barrels that look like that when examined with a bore light.

The 82's rifling is quite subtle, but if you take a round object that is as close to the diameter of the barrel as possible, place it in the barrel and look down the bore while shining a bright light up the bore so it shines around the object it enhances the bores' irregularities. When I traded mine, it was the only way I could convince the dealer it had rifling.

Your FFL made at least 2 errors. It cannot be NFA, even if it was a smooth bore. That only applies to guns with stocks or capable of firing shotgun shells.

) Any other weapon
The term “any other weapon” means any weapon or device capable of being concealed on the person from which a shot can be discharged through the energy of an explosive, a pistol or revolver having a barrel with a smooth bore designed or redesigned to fire a fixed shotgun shell, weapons with combination shotgun and rifle barrels 12 inches or more, less than 18 inches in length, from which only a single discharge can be made from either barrel without manual reloading, and shall include any such weapon which may be readily restored to fire. Such term shall not include a pistol or a revolver having a rifled bore, or rifled bores, or weapons designed, made, or intended to be fired from the shoulder and not capable of firing fixed ammunition.

Shotgun
The term “shotgun” means a weapon designed or redesigned, made or remade, and intended to be fired from the shoulder and designed or redesigned and made or remade to use the energy of the explosive in a fixed shotgun shell to fire through a smooth bore either a number of projectiles (ball shot) or a single projectile for each pull of the trigger, and shall include any such weapon which may be readily restored to fire a fixed shotgun shell.

No insults please. They are personal friends, are good people who made a mistake in and amongst many helpful deeds. They have always done right by me.
And they can continue to "do right by you" by getting your gun back and transferring it to you at their expense.

Dave, I'll be the judge of that "doing right by me" involves.
K, this isn't a discussion about my FFL or their actions, or peoples magical hindsight in situations they weren't involved in and no legal repercussions from if mistaken. The question has been answered, Mods, please close this thread.
