Would you buy a gun that has taken someone's life?

Yes, and I would buy a wrench that had been used to assemble a bomb, or to fix a tank. They do not become evil because they were used to accomplish something that we find disagreeable, or because of their appearance.

I suppose it would bother me if I was an animist and felt that all things had a spirit or soul, but I do not subscribe to those religious beliefs.

no, i wouldn't purchase an inanimate object that can kills people on it's own

Hmm, a gun that killed people on it's own would probably be an animate object. In trying to think of a deadly inanimate object, all I come up with is radioactive material (plutonium, cesium, etc) and the ground (for somebody falling fast).

My dad asked me my opinion of what to do with the .38 my brother used on himself...destroy it or pass it to a friend of his who would take it. Even at 18, I said to pass it on. It was a chunk of metal and destroying it would change nothing.

My cousin has a sawed of shotgun that has 3 definite notches that mean you know what. Eerie but doesnt bother me. If my mother or some one close took their life with a gun i dont think i would want it anymore just because it would bring back memories.

I don't have a problem with military weapons. They were performing as designed and advertised.

Suicide or atrocity weapons I definitely am not willing to own. Call it superstitious if you want, but that is not something I want to have on hand.

I don't think I could get a happy "gunny" feeling from a gun with that history.

Just my two bits.
