Would You sell your stockpile before a move?

Not a chance.

Beyond the money, I have way too much time invested in my guns ammo and other miscleaneous equipment to just liquidate it all for convenience sake.

My "stuff" means more to me than just it's worth in terms of monetary value. To me, it's worth the "hassle" of transporting it in the event of a relocation.

I remember a guy in a larger city that was in the early stages of separation, or divorce in the '90's. (They divorced after a brief reconciliation-that was a nightmare-considering the wife's motives at the time).

The (big) stockpile went to a friends attic, and remained safe without a lock on the door until sold or moved back to the gun safe.

Don't advertise what or where...

Is that number all .22LR, or is some of it short, long, WMR, or shot? How did you buy the .22LR? All @ once or a little @ a time?

All .22lr, but in varying types. It's all CCI b/c I like their .22lr ammo the most. There's Stingers, Velocitors, Mini-Mag HPs, etc.

I didn't buy it all at once. I bought it in chunks at a time and filled up ammo cans. Usually I'd buy 10 boxes of 50 or 100 rounds at a time. It took a couple years to finally fill up the cans.

I'm not sure if I need help moving, but in any case, I'm moving northeast of you separated by a few states.

I opted to sell my ammo stockpile stored back home in L.A. before driving to AL this Winter break.

It was easy to do that. Since Walmarts and ammo are scarce in L.A., I was able to get full Walmart pricing for it and then just re-bought some of it back here in AL.

If you could re-buy everything at the new site without losing any money, I don't see why you would want to drag it around with you.

All I know is.....

After toting alla my full ammo cans in and out of the house and up and down the basement stairs a couple of times, I'm convinced I need to build an ammo locker in the garage, much closer to the truck loading area! My poor old knees just can't do it anymore.

I am facing a move. I'll take what I can and leave what I can't with very close friends. You can't sell anything quickly for replacement value, and I have way to much that would need to be replaced.

Yes, I sold most of my gear before I moved from WA to AR, because at the time it was going to cost me more to move it than the difference of the loss. Had I known that the prices were going to rise so much, I've had made a different decision.
