your state does not allow the use of deadly force in defense of property.

You're confused about what is or isn't lethal force. Legal authorities consider anything coming out of a shotgun use of deadly force.

Put an alarm on the car, a master switch so it can't be started and a motion sensor flood light on the house pointed at the car. Much cheaper than bail.

i vote yes. i live in GA. its legal here to possess less-lethal "contraptions" such as those. i am even allowed to carry a taser into my little brother's school as long as i show no threat.

If they aren't a threat to my life, or the life of my family, they can have the car, and I'll call the popo force.

Unless it was a 911. If I bought a 911, that would be a member of the family and defensible with deadly force.

I think you mean a 1911.:)

no he means a 911 porsche
( well i think he does)

we used to hang horse thieves because stealing a horse took away a mans means to make a living, and taking a car means the same IMHO.

therefore i would use a rope, or a garrot.

Actually, we hanged horse thieves because in the old west it could take a guy days or weeks to get to another town. If you lost your horse while you were in the wilderness, you were probably gonna die of starvation or thirst if you didn't kill yourself first. Not a happy fate. The good folks figured that if you made a fella starve to death in the wild you deserved to be hanged.
