WTB: Remington 541-T .22

I have an opportunity to buy a Rem 541-T from an accquaintance. He does keep the riffle in pretty good shape. The rifle has a 3x9 Leu VariX II scope on it.

What is a fair price for the rifle & scope?

Is this a good rifle that I will be happy shooting paper target for a long time? What should I look for or check out on the rifle?

Price? Lot of it depends on condition. I've seen 541-T's go for $350 to $450, with an average somewhere in the middle. Scope can add $100-$150 depending on condition as well.

It's hard to wear one of those out if it was cared for. Make sure the bolt locks up well, the bore is good, no excessive wear and go from there.

But that's just my opinion.
