XD 40 to 9 ??

I was just wondering if this is possable.

I just got a XD-40 if i was to find a XD-9 barrel & a magazine Can i use the barrel in my gun & the mag ??


Make my 40 to a 9 ????

Versatillty. Kind of like shooting .38's in a .357 or .44 specials in a .44 mag.

Economics. 9mm's are much cheaper than .40 cal.

Coolness. "All i have to do is change the barrel and i can shoot 9mm's in my .40".

all you need is a new barrel - the magazines are the same, they're just stamped differently, and will hold 50% more 9mm than 40 or 357. you *might* need to tweak the feed lips slightly, at most.

and, if my math is right, it costs about the same to fill a mag with 9mm as with 40cal

Bump from the past with a couple relevant questions...

- How easy is it to switch the barrels out on an XD?

- If I got a XD in .357 sig, and wanted it to be 9mm, could I simply change the barrel and fire away?

cheaper ammo which comes in handy big time when you are a high volume shooter, or during trainning events. do alot more shooting for the same amount of money.

also you can get a .357 coversion barrel that will replace the .40 barrel, so you have the option of .357sig, .40 and 9mm, hard to beat that!

btw 9 times out of ten the .40 magazines will function fine when feeding 9mm ammo, try out your mags just to check that they all do ,but that way you can use the same mags.
