The XDM is amazingly accurate, especially after the trigger is broken in or you polish the sear a little. Even out of the box the triggers aren't bad and the XDM is extremely durable. The only thing I recommend is that if you intend to dry fire it much you buy the stronger aftermarket roll pin that goes through the top portion of the slide.

This is also an issue with the XD series and IMO is the only weak part of the design.

I love the XDM so much I bought two of them.

Personally I think XD/XDm triggers are horrible. I have 2-XD in 45ACP and an XDm in 9mm. I have done a PRP drop in trigger on the XDm and now I wonder why I didn't do it sooner. The other 2 will be getting triggers real soon!!!

Congrats on the XDm by the way

I loved my XDM until I bought a Glock and installed a 3.5 connector on it. I could hardly shoot my XDM. I and used to be a Glock hater.

What I mean is when I was looking into upgrading my sights and trigger it would have costed hundreds and I would of had to send the slide to XS for sight installation. Glocks are all do it yourself for a lot cheaper

I'm not trying to start a Glock vs brand X topic. Just after owning an XDM for well over a year, I want to give my honest opinion.

The pluses to the XDM is the grip, much more ergonomic than a "BLOCK".

Field stripping is a breeze too.

Accuracy is outstanding and so is reliability.

I sold it I guess because I wanted a C model Glock, XS sights that I could install myself. And a better trigger for cheaper than a Powder River kit.

I have that same model and it is absolutely deadly accurate. So far I have put probably 800 rounds of full house Longshot JHP loads through it, and it has never once experienced a cycling failure, any problems at all for that matter. I love the trigger too, which I really didn't think I would, being that I'm a wheel gun guy.

Good find and congrats!

Yes but I question the safety of such a setup for any but range use. All my Glocks have the 3.5lb connector, otherwise I can't shoot them worth crap. but they are range guns only because of this.

Tankless Pro-Let us know how you like the XDm after you make a range trip with it. I'm still carrying the XD-40 I bought back in 2007. One of these days I may decide to change.

I've got an XDm 5.25 9mm that is an absolute tack driver. As stated above I didn't care much for the factory trigger either. A Powder River Precision unit took care of that problem.

I own an XDm 4.5 in .45acp. Powder River trigger kit and TruGlo TFO sights. Lots of firepower in a big caliper. A very nice HD gun.

+1 on the additional roll pin. Springfield will send you a couple if you ask.

The Achilles heel of the XD/XDM/XDs guns is that you cannot buy every part from Springfield. This has largely been addressed by after marketers, but it's still unsatisfactory for a serious gun.

I have 5 XD's, 3 of which have a trigger job by Rich Dettlehouser. It puts the drop in units to shame. My XDM remains untouched, but I might change that in the future.

They are very reliable guns.

Another happy XDm owner here. I have a 4.5 inch in 9mm. I did a PRP drop-in trigger and added a TLR-4. It is my night stand gun, and a lot of fun to shoot.

At least one of the XD models have an external safety. Don't know about the XDm. The M&P and Ruger striker-fire models have external safeties available. With that a person can have the light trigger mod for uses outside the range. I'm surprised Glock doesn't have the external safety option.
