I had a Colt Defender go back for repair several times before they finally sent me a new one. Had a Kimber that had problems right out of the box and had to go back. My KT P-11 AND P3AT have never failed me. Have not owned a PF-9, but will probably get one someday.

Would love to hear your range report on the new Kahr. I've been tempted by one of the small Kahrs many times, but I've read so many reports of unreliable micro Kahr pistols, that I just haven't been able to fork out the cash for one. I may have read more bad Kahr reports, than bad Kel-tec reports. Please post your results.

Plus one on KT

I have

p32
P3AT
p11 (my 3RD)
SU16A

Of all these, I have had 3 FTEs. 2 of those were in the first (used) P11 which I returned to the seller. The 3rd FTE was the 48th round from a very dirty gun.

I think they are pretty hard to beat.

I just bought a Kel Tec SU 16 223 CA. http://www.equipped.com/Kel-Tec_SU-16_Review.htm

I would discount the review by the person who used extreme language. Similar to others I have read on various weapons I have shot and had and were good.

These folks who carry on like that one did are why others have to find out for themselves. If you listened to him about that weapon are you going to really listen to yourself?

Pretty sad to say the least.

I only have about 300 rounds through mine but I am very happy with it. Just for Kicks I had the slide duracoated.

My p-32 had light strikes out of the box, its currently at kel-tec being worked on. When it gets home, it gets sold. I'm not impressed by kel-tec.

Yep!! My Kahr runs like a dream 500 rounds thru it since i got it.
the pf-9 wasn't worth it in my book. To each his own...I told what i felt about the gun and may have hurt some feelings of some kel-tec owners.
If your ket-tec works ..GREAT! i'm happy for you and good luck with it.
I for one am finished talking about this. and i'm moving on...

And the same to you with your Kahr.

I don't think I mentioned it in my last post, but I've owned 3 Kel-Tecs. One very unreliable P11 which I quickly got rid of. A P32 which was 100% out of the box, until about 1000 rounds, and then I started having some issues with it. It may have been rimlock, but I'm unsure. A Sub 2000 which has been flawless in about 600 rounds. I really like the Sub with Glock mags. As far as the other two, it's hard to beat the P32 for a pocket gun, but neither of the P series Kel-tecs gave me the feeling of confidence. I think I've settled on the Glock 26, as a reliable, seemingly durable compromise CCW firearm. In regard to the Kahr pistols, I'd probably have bought one by now if it weren't for the tons of complaints I've read about them on the forums. I'm just not willing to take a chance on a $600 lemon. A $230 Kel-tec lemon was a little easier to chance.

I doubt Kel-Tec will be able to fix the light strikes, as 99 times out of a 100 it’s from short stroking the trigger. By design the trigger of a P-32, P-3AT or PF-9 must travel all the way forward after each shot or the primer will only get a dimple, as the hammer falls from the hammer block. As a safety feature these pistols require the stored energy of the partially cocked hammer plus a full trigger pull to ignite the primer.

I have about 1,000 rounds through the factory hard chrome without a hiccup. The custom chrome PF-9 has over 4,000 rounds. It was a very early model PF-9 purchased almost a year ago. It now has all the current production upgrades and is now 100% or I wouldn’t have spent the extra $$$.

If it's not what Wilson suggested, then it could be your ammo. Was it S&B by chance? That ammo has harder primers than most and it occasionally light strikes with P-32s.

I used two different ammo's. UMC and Fiocchi. Same results out of both. It wasn't super bad, only one in about 10 but thats enough to make it unsuited for carry. The trigger reset is something I haven't read about so far in them. Frankly I think I like SA/DA or Full DA better because IF you have a light strike you can always pull the bloody trigger again. I wish my Mak was about 10oz lighter. That thing is trustworthy.

The Kel-Tec P-11 has second strike capability, as that trigger is totally different without a hammer block. Without the hammer being partially c0cked the trigger pull of the P-11 is about 8.5lbs as opposed to the 6lbs pull of the P-32/P-3AT/PF-9.
