There are worse ways to get a kid into shooting and feeling a connection with the weapon they use.

It's not the worst I've seen.

This is. And it likely cost more than $400. :barf:

ah man ive seen some bad "gunkote" designs... someone took a CZ52 made it black with yellow "racing stripes" made me want to puke

Damnit people....

You are all acting very elitist. You may favor your blued steel and dark stained wood for firearms, but unless you accept certain branching out of firearm looks and designs, you will continue to hinder the creation of a gun-image that can be accepted by more people.

Everyone is different. If something like this fits their folly, then why not?

Do not dismiss the different or you will not grow.

Today's shooters are not yesterday's shooters. Some people like this sort of thing. We should encourage it, not dismiss it.

I'm not saying make guns more "PC". All I'm saying is that we need to quit being exclusionary when it comes to guns. If it gets people shooting, then it's worth it. No matter the cost or image of lunacy it implies.

I think the guy selling that corny painted stock for $400 is being elitist but hey that's just my opinion. If that guy can find a Scooby-Doo/shotgun enthusiast with $400 burning a hole in their pocket the more power to them I guess.

No,

He's being optimistic. He's also hoping to make money.

Plus he's got one hell of an interesting piece. More power to him AND The person who may buy it.

I can't say crap looks like crap? What is this... Russia?

LOL :D

Not my thing....

Neither is Jim Henson's reworked Model 31 trap gun with inlays of Kermit, Miss Piggy etc.

Or Steven Spielberg's Jurassic Park O/U with velociraptors and other engraved dinos.

Or a certain 1100 with screaming florescent green furniture.

But each of them makes someone happy.

So be it....

That stock says whoever buys it has a lot of money and very little taste. Maybe an A-list hollywood celeb would want it.

It seems to me that people who customize anything do so to THEIR taste not anyone elses. That doesn't mean they have no taste it just differs from yours. I would buy that stock for my young son who has found an interest in firearms. Not for 400 dollars though. I love the look of wood and the more conventional styling. I find tactical unattractive but necessary and useful. Some folks find them beautiful. Whos to say whos right and whos wrong. And of course you can say it looks like crap 1Kperday. But I don't have to agree with u.

I am. that thing is wrong. :D In a velvet painting of Elvis that cries real tears kind of way. It is pretty awesome. I'm not saying it should be banned. Just that the person who commissioned it should be dope-slapped. But it's a free country and it's his money...

Throw something like this on a shotty used for HD and your golden. The jury would see this thing and keep thinking "aww..how cute...no way this gun was meant for blowing away BGs."

Wouldn't a velvet painting get ruined if cried upon? How would anyone other then you know it was elvis crying? lol I will say I showed my son both pics on this thread and he liked them both but the blue racing stripe lookin one he thought was pretty cool. It would really do well marketed to a youth crowd. Kinda like the pink .22lr's are probably great for young girls to get into shooting. I better run out and get a copyright for the (insert pop. cartoon figure here) .22lr in bolt action. It could come as a kit with matching binoculars and maybe a pocket knife. And the upgraded version could come with a scope and also targets.
