Yesterday I was at my sons elemetary school giving his teacher a check for a class project. I found her in the hall (it was lunch time) and she gets this funny look on her face. I just smiled in wonder....ok...whats the grin for?

She says "You make holsters for a living?".....I was so taken off guard that I really didnt know what to say.
(Schools in UT are just like all over the bloody country, ran by paranoid liberals that are SO ANTI GUN! and alot of teachers are too! Big time!)
Um......ya, I do! Why?

"What kind? Specific holsters or just generic ones?"
No...very specific..for certain guns in certain ways of carrying them!

"OK...do you make Shoulder holsters?" (Im thinking to myself, shes pretty damn educated on this ???? for being a liberal? :rolleyes: ) Yes.....why?......

"Ok...do you make them for Glocks?" By now Im grinning from ear to ear and trying not to laugh.....Yes, I make Glock holsters.

"Whats so funny?" I told her having this conversation in a hall way is pretty unique to say the least. She agreed and laughed.

"Are you carrying right now?" Hell yes.......is that a problem?

"Oh, Absolutely NOT! I think its great" (By now Im like this :what: )

"My son has his permit and wants a nice shoulder rig" "And my husband has had his permit for years..he has a Smith snub" "Do you make those too?"

Yep...sure do.....Can I ask you how you came to find out about me making holsters? "Sure, Jesse wrote a paper about you and what you do for a living" "He sure loves you" :D

Jesse came running up the hall and gave me a big hug. I told him that what he had done was a very good thing............he just beemed.

Did you get a new customer? I said..probably a couple!

I gave her a couple of cards and told her to have the guys look at my website and give me a call. She said OK................and thanks.

NOW THAT WAS JUST THE FREAKIEST AND COOLEST CONVERSATION IVE EVER HAD WITH MY KIDS TEACHER........................ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very cool and very very strange..........................

Thought you all would get a kick out of it..........my mom was rolling when I told her about it. She knows my sons teacher and was not surprised by this at all. Ok....I had no clue!

Shoot well.
 
There are 19 teachers/administrators in my building. 8 have permits, four more are married to permit holders, and seven do not, but I've taken three of those seven to the range. Let's hear it for Southern Redneck Schoolteachers!!!!:D
 
PCRCCW Never judge a book by its cover ;) . One of my lit professors in college is a former Black Panther and he once told me "The only topic I agree on with conservatives is, you gotta be able to have a gun to protect yourself with!" Also, the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts is an avid gun collector. Hmmm. . .now that I think about it, they are two of the kindest, smartest, finest professors I have ever had. . .:D

The teachers/administrators around here dont think the police should carry a gun on school grounds let alone a lowly CCW'er. Thats the reason I almost fell out of my skin when I was having this conversation with her. LOL.......gotta love it.

When she asked me "You make holsters for a living?" I was ready for a battle.........seriously!

But the funny thing is....she says she was reading Jesse's paper and remembered looking at "Nice leather Shoulder holsters" at Gallensons in SLC and they were over 200$, for her son for Xmas. Thus the questions........to damn funny.

Apparently she asked Jesse previously and got the same answers from him as she did from me....he plays with my Glock mold.....and just wanted to clarify it with me..

Do you have any samples of your work? Yep...but I cant show you right now.....:rolleyes: She just nodded......Ill just look at your website.

That is too cool. Right about the part when she asked if you make shoulder holsters for Glocks, I though... Uh-oh, here comes the sermon about aiding and abetting terrorists taking those "invisible-to-metal-detectors" death machines onto airplanes. :D Glad it turned out the other way.

Give your kid a pat on the head. :D When you said he plays with your Glock mold, I knew he must be a good kid. ;)

Just when you think you've lost faith in the public education system, and the PC agenda that keeps cropping up there, along comes a story like yours, PCRCCW!

BTW, looking for a Kahr K-9 IWB or SOB, and a 3.5" Caspian Officer's ACP IWB, ala' Milt Sparks' Summer Special, for my wife and myself. Anything available from HBE, Inc?

That kid deserves a trip to the amusement center of his choice! :D

And that teacher should be nominated to "Teacher of the Year" or whatever similar title they offer in your area.

You are truly fortunate.

Please be advised that in the "ice cream capital of the world" YES it is legal to CCW in school. Futhermore PCRCW is a well respected gentleman whom was also on TFL. This respect he earned and continues in the holster business. The man has integrity. I don't appreciate the slight of any member, nor do we call them liars. Only do we do so in kidding and light-hearted fun.
 
Well now........hmmmmmmmm. I missed out on some emotional stuff did I?

Mustang, it is completely legal to carry in Bars, Schools, Churches etc in UT.
Every state has their own idiosycratic laws that vary given your local.

Judging by the "Attack removed by Mod" comment below........My guess is you had some fightin words for me? Here I am..and Im not going anywhere......................Thanks Matt G.

My integrity on THR among other forums, a couple Im staff on, is intact and has been FOR YEARS. I do not break the law, recommend that you do or even blow smoke in the slightest fashion. If I give advice its from my OWN experience and from past lessons learned.

Thanks for the kind words guys....I appreciate it. But there is not really a need to come to my rescue. Again, I appreciate it anyway.........:D

BTW...Im giving Jesse a 10% finders fee........just because I can.

Hmmm... well, lessee... Lagoon, Lagoon, or Lagoon??? That's a tough choice. :D I guess "the Fun Dome" might qualify.

Remember, it IS Utah. :p :D

This post made me smile. Didn't know where the teacher was going . Thought that it was going to be the same old story and I was suprised by the results! Cool! Be good.
