Your Favorite Affordable Gun

For affordable revolver I'm gonna go with the $299 I paid for my Taurus 856. The grips were extra so it's less cheap now. And if you reload it's cheap-ish to shoot too, and no chasing brass. It's a good gun.

For affordable semiauto I think it would have to be the Bersa Thunder 380. You can get locked breach 9mm strikers these days for similar money, but they lack style :)

That’s the hard part with “affordable” guns. Resisting the urge to upgrade them. :D
 
one of the best affordable guns imho is a savage bolt action apex or even used a 110.
they are pretty cheap, shoot well, and always work.

i just got a used rock island 1911 in 45 acp for 300, i think that is cheap for a decent 1911.
previous owner had it cerakoted in ugly flat dark earth color that i hate.
but its a gun i dont mind shooting, scratching, dropping, what ever.
its just a beater gun.

Cerakoting is a sign of budget gun to mess with, I hope we look back at this phase in our life as a mistake

Ruger 10/22. I have had mine for about 10 years and it has provided far more enjoyment than the $250 I paid for it. Heck I would spend more than that to take my son to a professional football game.
 
I've considered some of those sub 200 dollar pump shotguns. Or maybe even the "Turkish clone" lever action 12 ga shotgun that doesn't actually appear to be a clone of anything.

Mind you I have 20 or more "good" shotguns. It would be simply for my own curiosity
 
I would have to say my two Taurus revolvers. 605 357mag and 415 41mag. These revolvers have been completely reliable and are 2 of my favorite CCW handguns.
 
My favorite affordable gun probably isn't quite so affordable these days.

I bought my Colt 1991A1 in 1991. If I recall correctly, it was about $400. It's served me well as my carry piece for decades, now.
 
RIA 1911's have been good to me, reliable and accurate, and less than $500 new, less than $400 used.
A used HiPoint 995 is not a thing of beauty, and has a really lousy trigger, but cheap (less than $300), reliable and accurate.
Ruger's P series semi's are great bargains.
My brother has a Stevens 87 that has been fun. Pretty reliable and accurate, and the prices on Gunbroker are what I would have expected them to cost 2-3 years ago (one on gunbroker is at $81.00 with 22 hours to go.).
 
While I didn't pick one up when they were much cheaper years ago, my CZ82 definitely sees a lot of range time. It's not much for looks and was reasonably cheap to acquire, still reasonably cheap to feed, reliable, and more accurate than it deserves to be.
