custom 6mm/06. rem 721 action, montana #4 barrel, timney trigger, boyd stock, burris glass, leupold rings and bases. Whats not to like.

1: Custom series 70 Colt.

I had this done up in the mid 90's by Mike Larocca
( At the time he was on the list of top 100 pistolsmiths in American Handgunner )

2: Glock 19/26

For sentimental reasons, I'd have to say my first gun. An original Colt M1911 made in 1922. No blue left, kinda ugly, but works great and its fun to shoot.

I was kind of caught off-gaurd by this thread!

I had never realy thought about which one was my "favorite", thinking long and hard, I don't have one that stands out. The best I can do is my favorite in each category.

My favorite antique: Lefecheaux .44 pinfire revolver from my grandfather's estate.

My favorite "fun" gun/plinker: My Kel-Tec Sub9 folding carbine.

My favorite (all around) handgun: My S&W 686, because it's the most accurate in my hands.

My favorite bolt-action milsurp: My Spanish FR-8, because it feels so "handy", and it's faux CTME op-rod, and flash hider make it very "future primitive", in a Firefly/Serenity sort of way.

My favorite semi-auto rifle: My Colt "AR-15" MT6501 or whatever they were calling them…

My favorite home defense piece: My HK USP40 (It used to be my G21, but I like having an external safety on a gun I may need or "think" I need to use from a complete sleep just seconds earlier)

My favorite semi-auto: My Glock 21.

My favorite .22: MY $59 bolt-action Romanian trainer rifle. Works and shoots better than all my other .22's

My favorite shotgun: I've got only two. My Rem 870 I use for duffing in trap, and my Mossberg 590A1 for HD. Neither really gets me super-excited. If you go by use, the 870 wins, since I've busted about X10000 times more clay pigeons than home invaders. :)

my remington 700 mt. rifle in .270 win is my favorite long gun. CDL might would be if i had one. The sig p226 in .40 is my favorite pistol.

Lan Evo, that 686 is beautiful! i am drooling right now.

My favorite would be a Remington 760 in .243 that my dad was going to give me until some lowlife stole it. So I suspect that my favorite someday soon will be a 7600 in .243.

Until then... S&W 686 in Stainless.

My absolute favorite gun in my entire collection is my Norinco SKS. Silly, yes. Cheap, yes. HD gun that has more than earned its stay here... yes.

ZeSpectre, sorry to hear about the loss. I recently "inherited" a 760 in .30-06 from my father-in-law. I put "inherited" in quotes because he's still alive and kicking, and will get out to the deer woods sooner than I this year! The 760 is a classic, and I'm happy to have it. I plan to carry it afield this fall.

But favorite? I've been thinking on that for all of ... say ... three minutes :D and I can't settle on one. There are several that I like to shoot, fondle, and generally play with. I always have a current infatuation (see the SP101 picture thread in the revolver forum), and one or more project guns I'm working on or dreaming about.

But I guess if I had to settle on "the one" that really is everything I'd hoped it would be, it would be my accurized Remington 700 VSSF in .308, which shoots pretty close to half-MOA regularly when I do my part, and with which I've shot steel out to 900 yards. It's the gun that regularly reminds me that it is more accurate than I am, and that I can't blame when I pull a shot.

Sentimental favorite: Pre 64 Winchester Model 94, .32 Win Spl. Inherited it from my father in law after he died. He was a good guy and a good ol' redneck. The gun's in very good condition on the outside but it doesn't shoot very well. I think the muzzle has seen better days due to excessive cleaining from the muzzle end with a sectional aluminum rod.

Overall favorite: M1 Garand. Its may favorite gun to shoot and the first one that comes out of the safe when I'm showing off my guns to someone. I lucked out from the CMP with this one. 5.8M s/n Springfield receiver. TE<2. Muzzle is very tight. The gun is more accurate than I am. The stock has a few 'character' dings but it refinished very nice and it has none of the carving damage often found on the Greek issued rifles. The stock/receiver fit was a little bit loose but a few soda can shims under the trigger housing and in front of the receiver lugs tightened it up considerably and made a big difference in group size. These shims aren't noticeable on the outside and so far I've been able to sneak it past the guys at Perry for the JCG matches. I hope I never win or I'll be in trouble.

This is my favorite gun, because it's the first rifle I ever bought, when I was around 9 or 10. It is NOT in what one would call "good shape", although it works just as good now as it ever did, and I still shoot it on occasion. There is a patina of rust on it. Not the nasty rust, but almost like a bronzing. I have scrubbed and scrubbed, and it won't come off. Since it appears nothing is going to get it off, I just leave it. The wood is in so-so shape. Way, way prior to me buying it, someone tried carving a giant "B" in the stock, and there are also some holes where someone tried to write a word.

So, you ask, why would a 10 year old kid buy such a POS rifle? Well, because for all it's cosmetic flaws, this rifle shoots. I won't way it's a tack driver, but I can hit just about anything I want out to about 50 yards or so. I have no idea how many rounds that have gone through it total, but in my hands, probably somewhere in the neighborhood of 10,000-15,000. In all those rounds, I have pretty much had zero problems. Nothing has broke, it hasn't mysteriously changed it POI, nothing. Anyway, I have many guns, but this one is my favorite.

Handgun: Sig P226.

Shotgun: Remington 1100 Magnum

Rifle: Early version AR-15 (triangular forend, no bolt assist, no shell-deflecting "hump")

Of all the toys in my collection, my favorite one is still an 1875 Remington in .44 that's in 90-95% condition. It's been in my family for 3 generations and I still marvel at how good it looks (ignoring the 4 notches under the barrel of course).

My favorite is my rack grade M1A with a GI fiberglass stock and chrome lined barrel. It can do anything from downing a deer to defending home and country.

My first firearm is still my favorite, my Beretta 92FS.

Although I have a greater admiration of handguns, my favorite in my collection is my No.1 MkIII SMLE. Why beacuse it's such a historic rifle , not because of the war usage but my family history. Dad passed it down to me when I was old enough to get my deer license for the first time.
