Well, by now everyone knows about Hornady's decision to roll out their "for zombies only" ammo.
But I never wondered what exactly to fire it in... Until now. Look at this:

What do you guys think? I'm kind of lost for words really. I can see how they'd be useful for Hollywood, but they look like something out of video game I'm playing currently. Make sure to read the repsonses below.
This company, like Hornady, does outstanding work otherwise. Their chameleonflage and champat freehand/digital camo is superb --I'm trying to copy one of their schemes now. They do good work. So why the zombie stuff? It mentions "zombie shoots". Is this a new sport like 3gun or something?
I guess I'm traditional, I like my AR's and I like my video games, but I draw a distinct line between the two. When I go to the range, I go to have fun, to shoot difficult shots, test ammo, parts, builds, whatever. I like all of that. I'm having fun.
So I guess that if zombies are becoming a legitimate part of shooting, if there are "zombie shoots" and this is what these guys do for fun (as long as they do it safe and hopefully know the difference between reality and make believe --I assume the do) then who are we to mock it or say nay?
If this becomes a big new sport, shooting zombies on ranges, then I suppose this site will have to change some rules to allow for discussion of "zombies". At least in this context, no? Would it not be better to have the zombie crew under the folds of the wings of experienced shooters (because most of the afficianados seem to be the younger crowd new to arms with no traditional background) or should they be expelled from here because of their choice of ammo (made by one of my favorites, I have to admit it) and camo jobs (done by one of the best around) and targets? Which I assume could run the gamut from paper targets to even moving mannequins.
Come to think of it, if the layout looks fun, I may shoot a "zombie match" myself! But I'm kind of open minded. If it looks fun though, why not? Now I'm interested.
