Another vote for Kahr 9mm, but I actually prefer the increased heft of the K9. It really helps with recoil and makes it very easy to get back on target, even with some of the hotter +P rounds. The trigger is great, especially for those who came up on revolvers.
Was there only one issue with yours or did it have multiple problems? I've been looking at the DB and the Micro DE but I really like the feel of the DB.
I have an XD in .45 and I find the recoil to be much softer than the .40 Glock 22. It's very accurate as well and the only drawback at the moment is the cost of .45 ammo relative to either .40 or 9mm.
Thanks for the heads up on that, Old Fuff. I just placed an order and I should get it by the end of this week.
FWIW, while they note that there are some with pinned barrels available, they are charging $10 extra for those.

Here's a link to the manual. Much of the information you're looking for is on pg. 11. There's also an exploded view of the pistol showing the location of the firing pin block near the end of...
I agree that it would be nice it the XD Gear stuff were optional. I've never used the holster or mag pouch either and I use an Uplula loader so I don't use the loader either.
At least Springfield still includes two magazines. Certain manufacturers of pistols which have a considerably higher...
Wow! Thanks for checking that. Looks like they've been back up for around a month now. My old shortcut is still not working so I bookmarked the new one.
Thanks again. I used to get a lot of good info there.
I'm very sorry for your loss. This past year must have been incredibly difficult for you and your family. Hopefully, the upcoming trial will be swift and the outcome just.
I have .357's in J, K, and L frames. Best all-around goes to the L frame hands down and I have several K frames that I'm very fond of and carried for many years, the key word being carried.
When planning to shoot often and put a lot of rounds downrange, the L frame excels.
I personally...
I have had one of their 9mm carbines for years and it has been extremely reliable, accurate and just plain fun to shoot.
They're made in the USA, have a superb warranty and are reasonably priced.
I would suggest that your friend contact Hi Point's customer service and give them a chance...
Mine would have to be my 1895 Nagant revolver. Very interesting from a mechanical standpoint, especially given the technology available at the time it was designed.

Orion8472,
I recently picked up a nickel-plated version of that very pistol. The link below had a lot of information which I found helpful.

rcmodel, thank you! I actually went and retrieved a .45 and tried your method. The first time was a little dicey manipulating the bushing going back in but the second time was great.
