    Hey all

Oh, Lord! A topic that can start fights. I am a 45 ACP man. In truth, they are both good self-defense rounds. Both have pluses and minuses.

Wyoming keeps 8 and drops 14 other states from reciprocity

To me this is a perfect example of why they need to acknowledge an individual's right to carry whatever they want, however they want and mind their own business.

I got my Sig back from being refinished @ CCR!

Sharp. I may look into that for the P-220 I've carried since 1985.

    firearm stolen by fraud?

My advice is: 1. run the numbers to see if it is stolen. 2. keep copies of all emails, yours and his, just in case the cops do come calling. 3. Ignore him, since he doesn't know where you live. 4. If you are really nervous, consult an attorney with all the facts of the situation and ask for...

How to Check if a Gun is Stolen?

Bad answer. If I were the cop, my answer to that would be "because criminals do dumb things all the time." No sense ticking off a cop for no good reason. The best answer to a question like that is "Yes, it is."

    CETME...Educate Me

The main problem wasn't 7.62x51. The real problem was using commercial 308 that was loaded hotter than milspec. The Cetme can handle milspec ammo just fine. They couldn't handle much more, so if you reloaded, it had to be to mil-spec for 7.62x51.

    CETME...Educate Me

The thing about Century Arms Cetmes is that almost all of them could be made reliable, if you didn't mind fiddling around with them, and sometimes replacing worn parts. They use a lot (but not all) of the same parts as a G3. Mine had problems with the recoil rod hanging up and locking the...

    CETME...Educate Me

Most aftermarket Cetmes have synthetic stocks. If it has a wood stock, chances are good (but not 100%) that it is a military surplus weapon. These are good weapons, assuming the particular gun is not worn out. Sythetic stocked Cetmes are primarily from Century Arms, built by putting imported...

    first gun show--advice

I go to gun shows knowing what I'm looking for. Then I research ahead of time to find out what the going price is on the items I want. I never go to a gun show just to see what I can buy with the money I have available. That's how you get ripped off. On very rare occasions I have run into things...

UK vs US Gun Control & Crime Statistics?

When no one else is armed? Guess again. One guy with a knife can kill a whole lot of unarmed people before he's stopped.

Will shooting become a rich mans sport?

I don't know if it's a rich man's sport, yet. I shoot, and I ain't rich. On the other hand, it sure ain't a poor man's sport. Guns are more expensive all the time. Ammo is more expensive all the time. Range time is more expensive all the time. Places to shoot without paying are getting scarcer...

I just picked up a like new Savage 110E

Can't answer for here, but you'll find I answered your iron sight question at Savage Shooters. In addition, if you look around at Savage Shooters, you'll find the procedure is to PM your serial number to the appropriate member, who will get back to you as soon as they have time.

    Conflicting load data

So, does anyone know if the companies ever compare notes on their loading data? I'd think Hodgdon or Nosler (or any other company) would want to know if someone is recommending their product be used in a way that they have deemed to be not safe.

    Conflicting load data

It's been pointed out to me that I made a mistake in the Nosler data. The actual data for the 300 Win Mag from Nosler is 70 to 74 gr. vs 71 to 76 from Hodgdon. Makes my example less extreme, but still valid. How does anyone tell which source is the safest source to use? Nosler says 74 gr is...
