    Bass Pro Shop

The long guns on display at our local store are not fully functioning. The bolts are removed on rifles and IIRC the shotguns have trigger guards on them.

This is how guns get banned out here

The NRA does not get it's strength from the 2nd Amendment. It's from the number of members, and the money it takes in.

why does sig only ship guns with ONE mag?

SiGs are the BMW of the handgun world..."the ultimate shooting machine". They are not the cheapest but they are great shooters. Overrated? Not in my opinion. All my SiGs came with 2 magazines new, but I can't speak to the P250. My Kimber only came with one. I would definitely agree with...

    Blackwater USA Rant

I am familiar with the range in question. The new owners have improved the place quite a bit. I very much like their new target-hanging system allowing both short and long range placement. It's much cleaner, has better targets, nicer chairs and facilities, etc. I don't have a problem paying...

    Shoot em up

I made the mistake of PPVing Shoot Em Up this past weekend. What a waste of $4.99 and 1hr 27min of my time. The only reason I didn't turn it off halfway through was Monica Belluci. The Kingdom was a good flick. Two thumbs up.

    P220 Stainless

SiG discontinued the standard stainless models in the past year. Now the only all-stainless models are "elite" with the beavertail grip and short reset trigger (SRT). $800 would be high without the CT grips. If you really want those grips, it may be a good deal, but FWIW I have a set for my...

    P239 group

I've got a P239 SAS .40 with the DAK trigger. Great shooter!

    sig p239, p220, p226 for cc

I own all three and have carried them concealed but the P220 and P226 are much more comfortable OWB. P239 is the only one I carry regularly IWB. Your mileage may vary.

    Sigs And 1911's

I love my SiGs, they are all great shooters, don't believe everything you read on the 'net. My Kimber is a great shooter too!

How do you get 1911's to feed hollowpoints

My Kimber Custom TLE II feeds Hornaday XTP and Remington Golden Sabre with no problems. I used 8-rd KimPro TacMags with it.

No other training before the class. I think they said bring 1200 rounds, and recommend 9mm due to cost. At that time I only had the P226R .40 and .40 ST, plus a Kimber .45, so I took the stainless .40 for the class. I ended up using about 1000 rounds in the class. I am a noob shooter...

    Which one S&W 5906 or Sig P226?

Do everything you can to shoot both (rentals?) and then pick the one that fits your hand, grip angle, etc the best. I shoot SiGs and and love my P226s but haven't shot the S&W so I can't honestly compare them for you.

    Sigs

This picture was from the end of first day of Gray Guns class. I had improved a lot by that point. That jagged hole in the headshots represents 3 full 12-rd magazines, shot 6rds at a time rapid fire, plus some mozambique drills, at 7yds!

    Sigs

Here it is, though it is wearing the laser grips that came with my first handgun ever purchased (P226R CT .40 in Aug 2006). The extra weight of the stainless is nice at long range sessions but at the 3-day Gray Guns class in NC this year all that extra weight was very hard on the shoulders at...

    Sigs

I sold my Kimber Custom TLE II last week to a friend in Calif. I replaced it with a new P220. I now (again) have an all-SiG family of pistols -- P220, P226 9mm, P226 9mm vintage stamped slide model, P226R .40, P226R Stainless .40, and P239 SAS .40. Here is that latest addition at the...

    SIG P-226 doesn't like longer 9mm rounds

Agree with Scorp.... I've got an older P226 9mm, newer P226 9mm, a newer P226 .40 and a P226 stainless .40. Never had any problems with any of them ejecting live rounds. Get some snap caps for safety's sake, load them up (NO LIVE AMMO) and slow down the slide movement until you figure out...

Own any guns that have "a history"?

Good thread. I've got a SiG P226 9mm I bought from a friend. He bought it new in San Diego when he got out of the Marines in 1987. He carried it as his duty weapon for many years on the DC capital police dept and pulled it twice in defense of his life. It's got a low serial number (148xxx)...

    Sig 239

I bought a lightly used SAS (anti-snag) P239 for $675 but the SAS is higher retail to begin with. I'd say the one you're looking at is a decent price.

Standard stainless model finish...I think the picture resize / jpg compression has hazed the resolution a little. The CT grips came on my first gun (nitron/black alloy) but I usually have them on the stainless model.

    Sigs

Not sure I have posted my pics, so here is one...my most recent acquisition, a used P226 9mm along with my Kimber Custom TLE II. Another...P226R .40 with a set of SiG CT grips.
