Just one gun in a .40 is a tough call. I've never shot a .40 and get all kinds of mixed reviews about the recoil...but it doesn't stop me from being curious. If I had to pick from one -- and given my state limitations....I'd probably go with either the Beretta 96 or a Glock (which ever fits your hand best). For those that have fired the .40 -- how does the recoil compare to a 9mm? I'm also interested in the .45 but again, never fired one. It'd be nice to have a variety among calibers. Sigs are great guns too -- available in MA but I agree, if you have the opportunity to get a Beretta or Glock -- either will do just fine for considerably less.
10+1 rounds, DA/SA and/or Cocked & Locked, ambidextrous levers, lightweight steel & alloy construction (28 oz), the 3 5/8" long barrel is a good carry/range size, and mine is as accurate & reliable as any other semi-auto I own.
Yep - this would have to be my pick for a one & only .40S&W....
I'll pass on the Glocks because I am extremely fond of my right hand.... I think my Para 1640 would do the job. 16 + 1 rounds standard capacity is enough to settle most disagreements and it is a tack driver for accuracy.
