I walked into my LGS to get a FNX-9 that I have been wanting and saw this just sitting there.

An older, all metal (no stupid plastic), Beretta 92G (decocker only, no safety), with AlumiGrips with Beretta logo, and its a Centurion with night sights!!

I am super excited about it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As one whose hands love the Beretta 92s, I support your choice. I'd probably have made the same impulse buy myself.

I'm an FN guy, but I am probably an even bigger Beretta guy. Good call:)

Nice find there! Haven't seen a Beretta 92 Centurion in a long time. Definitely somewhat more old school compared to the FNX you were thinking about getting.

mesinge2,

In your other thread with a poll about the FN guns, you mentioned you generally don't like DA/SA. (I don't either)

What is it about this gun that makes that preference less of an issue.

I don't mean it to question your decision, I'm curious because I don't like DA/SA much either.

Nice gun BTW. The 92's are too big for my hands but Ive always wanted to hold one of those to see if it fit me better.

As a proponent of DA/SA pistols for use in self-defense, I'm guessing that maybe he's finally wised up. ;)

My tastes are odd I guess. I have twenty-one 1911s and this is my fourth Beretta 92. I generally dislike DA/SA on everything and much prefer SAO, but on the Beretta 92 series of guns it seems perfect. I am entirely not sure why. The 92s, once you install a D spring, have the best combination IMO of a manageable DA and a crisp enough SA when compared to other guns of this style. Even my SIGs are either DAK, DAO, or SAO as I tend to avoid the DA/SA models. But on the 92 it just feels right.

I'm with you mesinge, I categorically dislike da/sa but the gun I shoot most, and best are variants of the 92. To go even more odd I actually prefer the taurus 92, but that is strictly due to safety location. The kitty cat guns are all great for me too and I often wonder why the 92 wasn't called the tiger or something of the sort. Tomcat, minx, cheetah...92?

I generally don't like 92s (plenty of experience with them, issued for 2 combat tours), but I do like the "G" model since my biggest gripe is the safety. Nice score!

I think the 92s have a better DA/SA from the factory than Sig, reset is a lot better.

That is probably one of the best version of the 92 ever made. Congrats!

Proof positive that the Beretta 92 / M-9 series is more than adequate for use by the U.S. Military.

My active duty son loves shooting my 92. He leaves lots of paper as he enjoys shooting small groups. Says he is practicing on Bin laden. ;-0

I ran across a Centurion last week, and didn't even know they exist. I always thought the 92 looked bulky, and never really had any affection for them. But the shorter barrel appealed to me. I took it to the range on Friday, and am now totally smitten by this pistol! I never shoot DA, and didn't change that practice with the Beretta.

The accuracy and precision (using 124g) wasn't equal to my Kimber Classic Gold Match .45ACP, but it was a close 'second best', which is awesome, considering I paid 35% as much for it as I paid for the Kimber. ;)

I'm sure yours is as exciting to shoot as mine is, which is quite a lot.

I am a 1911 guy and the Commander 4.25" barrel 1911s are my favorite for balance. The Beretta 92 Centurion is basically a 92 Commander with its 4.3" barrel instead of the 4.9" Full size.

I was actively seeking a Centurion for years before I found this one.

Great choices with the two holsters; really like the DeSantis Speed Scabbard.

Yes, congrats on the Centurian and the SHTF GEAR IWB.

My 96C was stolen about 15 years ago.

I'm sure the scum that stole it enjoyed how well it pointed over a
92F or 96F.

I'd like the pick up a 92FS Italian next year or so... or maybe the
Wilson.

The Wilson guns are spendy for Berretas, but they do have
Centurion slide.

Others guns are on my list (CZ 2075 RAMI BD) so a Beretta
9mm is a long ways off for me.
