MidwayUSA shipping time.

Not Midway--but I placed an Amazon order on the 6th and it arrived today(free shipping option)----from what I hear, Amazon is getting completely slammed ---so Midway should at least be in the same ball park.

In normal times, I've had some Midway orders come unbelievably fast----one was the next day(literally)---usually its 2 or 3 days and I always choose the cheapest shipping option--be it free or a small fee.

Pretty much every retail that is shipping that I've used is about +2 to 6 days additional to process the order for the shipper. Ship times are the same unless there is a delay at some point. I had some stuff coming from Florida that got hung up in Georgia for an added day. Amazon had like 4 orders a day or so part for some items. They consolidated the order so I wound up getting it a couple days earlier than expected. I'm not a Prime member so the free shipping was supposed to be about 9 days out. That was nice.

I average about one online order per month, roughly half of which are with Midway. The other half of the orders are split among three other suppliers. Midway is competitive on price and delivery with the other suppliers on the items I purchase.

It's a very complicated time in our history, unique and monumental.
Things are taking more time to get done.
Some places are enforcing more distancing for their shipping and dock workers; some are using fewer people per shift--it's complicated.
The links and connections in the logistics biz are also strained a bit. USPS is trying to both be open and closed at the same time. So, anything that links through USPS is complicated.
And, all throughout the logistics systems out there, there are people who are off sick, too (both with and not with the plague).

In years hence, delays in shipping will be compared to our present times. "Ya think that's a long delay? Why durin' The Plague . . . " (Nothing new there, "Old men forget, ... but will remember, with advantage, the feats..."--Henry V, Act 4, Scene III)

A few days back I processed an Amazon return at the local UPS store. That small space was filled 6' high with returns from the entry to back of the store. The guy told me that normally one truck is capable but now they may use 2-3. Most my neighbors instead of going to stores are ordering stuff through Sams, Costco, Walmart...etc. The packages left daily is more than Xmas time by my observations.

This whole shipping thing is making people crazy! Some guy just MF everyone and jake on RMR Facebook page. Pretty sad.

Interesting, but in plain English I asked what were people’s experience not what MidwayUSA’s website said.
I have not had issues with their speed until this "crisis." I usually get a tracking number on day two. Maybe I'm just lucky.

Edit: The order for some non essentials I placed today wont ship for a week...

MidwayUSA is what it is and their shipping policies have always rubbed some people the wrong way.

When discussing MidwayUSA, I always try to keep the following two things in mind.
1. they have a very, very wide variety of product and more items in stock than anyone else I can think of, save Amazon.
2. MidwayUSA actively supports my pro2A values (with a LOT of $), while Amazon actively opposes them via. Bezos left leaning politics.

Fast vs. slow is a relative and subjective standard. I personally try not to fall into the fast-food immediate gratification required mode of thinking.

I've ordered from Midway three times this year (pre-pandemic) and all orders were received in less than a week (I'm 1,500 miles away).

FWIW, non "essential" items I've recently ordered from Amazon PRIME, are being scheduled for a 1 month lead time. I think I should get a refund on my Prime membership fee.

I canceled my prime membership due to this.

I don't complain about slow shipping, especially in our current state of affairs, but what I do ding companies on is not setting correct expectations.

If you say 2 day shipping but it sits in your shipping room for 2 weeks before you move it out, then yeah, you deserve a bad rating. No excuse not to give realistic expectations.

MidwayUSA was upfront with my order that they were slammed and it might take longer than usual. That's all I ask.

I'm only 50 miles away and the average delivery time is 1 week. I still buy from them (and Graf's) since they are local to me.

I think most of it has to do with what is ordered. This afternoon I ordered Mr. Yoshida’s, Chicken Poop and Fiesta Rib Rub and it will all be delivered Thursday. I have Prime.

Ordered 3 holsters, 2 de capping pins and some SW revolver parts on 4/9. MidwayUSA said they were slammed and it would take longer than usual. Got the "shipped" note on 4/16 and my package arrived on 4/18.

Given the current state of affairs, I'm good with that.

Certainly beats HomeDepot, which is slammed and doesn't know how to handle it. Pre Wuhan Flu they were doing online orders and customer pickup as a side business, now it's become a core business and they haven't quite gotten the hang of it yet.

I’ve always been pleased with Midway, most times the order was filled and shipped within 24hrs.

placed an order on the 15th and now 4 days latter no contact, as far as I know everything was in stock so I wait.

If it was an issue of merchandise out of stock they should contact me otherwise I’m to believe there’s a massive pile of orders ahead of me?

I have ordered from midway, primary arms and optics planet in the last few weeks and everything shipped within a couple days

I've worked mail-order during Christmas rush. If you're understaffed for the volume, there's nothing you can do but but work steadily and get to them in the order received. And they are certainly understaffed, this was not a scheduled event where you get holiday temp workers in advance. In addition, keeping social distance in the workplace reduces speed, there's no two ways about it. None of these businesses are shipping slowly on purpose, I think we should cut them some slack.

I agree.

I put in an order on April 10th for all in-stock items.

I got an email on April 18th that my order had "shipped" meaning they had created the shipping label. It hasnt left their dock yet and I imagine won't until sometime Monday.

Meanwhile I put an order in with Graf's a few minutes after I put in the order with Midway back on April 10th. Other than acknowledging receipt of the order I haven't heard a thing. But, in their defense they put it right at the top of their page that they are way behind in fulfilling orders so that it might take 8-10 "business days" before they process an order never mind actually shipping it.

I am annoyed with everything being so hard to find and taking so long to receive, but have to square that against the circumstances of our shared national moment in time.

It is what it is.

At least they are still open for business however slow.

In my experience, which is considerable having ordered dozens of items over the years, the shipping has always been very quick as promised. I live in NE Kansas, about a 3 hour drive from their headquarters and have rarely waited more than a day or two. I ordered a set scope rings last week, which BTW were unavailable anywhere else. They said there would be a 7-8 day delay and the rings are now on the way, as promised. I also bought two guns in the past two weeks from two other sources and had the same experience; some delay, but delivered nonetheless. Ordered a spare mag for my AR and it took 3 weeks....not Midway. So, in my experience Midway is doing a hellava job.

Are we still fussing about Midways shipping? It's always been pretty good IMHO.

On a side note, they have taken a great website and ruined it over the last few years. Now it's a bad as the rest of them. Sure has cost them money from me, since it isn't as convenient to search/shop there. It's run of the mill now. *Sigh*
