Anyone else spinning their wheels so hard shooting had taken a back seat?

Our shooting club was closed for a bit due to virus concerns but has since reopened with caveats - shooting access is back to normal with distancing in mind. I shot this Thursday past - a beautiful, quiet and relaxing morning of shooting. The virus is just another of life’s bumps in the road - many more to come in an average lifetime.

I'm retired. Still shooting 2 or 3 times per week. My indoor range never closed. Outdoor was closed for a few weeks.

Not much has changed for me as far as shooting. But I have private land to use. And of course its ground hog season as well.
No ground hogs here. Just lots of crawdads that make volcanos in my hay field and dull sickle sections.
I did get to shoot a lot in April and early May.
I will get to shoot again after next week.

My range open with limited schedule few weeks ago.
However, one safety officer got the covid therefore close again.
Honestly. I'm reluctant to go indoors one, noise, safety and the like reasons.
Getting, my supplies by mail lately since no funny shows.
Man my steel targets are rusting in my trunk.

Not to rub it in or anything, but I totally snuck out to “mow” the cabin today.
In between three properties and seven hours of mowing and loading and trailering.

I had one dud today in about ten or twelve magazines. You can see the primer cake broken up in the powder. That’s not Green Dot powder... 3C6FF748-B073-4C1D-924D-4465FDA73F23.jpeg

I stared longingly at the long target. See it? In the middle. The white dot. Way in the back. No, I swear it’s there! Just below the bush on the old rail grade. The tree branch is pointing to it. No, on the left more. Under the dark trees. In the background...know what never mind...:p ABE3B5EE-AC16-4B5E-9320-6815B0E6AF40.jpeg

I hope you get a chance soon to “sneak out” and blow off some steam. Of course, now in Michigan, it is steamy out.:D

Demi-human

Oh I can see it just fine, right next to the tree and what looks like telephone or power lines right around there.

So how far away is that and what do you shoot to get there on target?

I was recently granted access to a private range only two miles away, and I have a dear friend who loves to keep me supplied with reloading components so she can shoot my guns...so I am probably shooting more, even though my work load has gone up.

We had a regular shooting club meeting yesterday. There's two members, haha. We worked on clubhouse expansion, adding two 10X12 bays.

Had fun,shot some,worked some,sweated a lot.

For me it's been cleaning up loose ends here at the shop which is all about streamlining. Makes chores and hobbies WAY more fun because there's hardly any wasted effort dinking around "junk",both physical and grey matter "obstackles". Want to cast, roll out the cart and plug it up. Want to shoot, grab gun and a cpl accessories and start yanking triggers. Got smithing chores, have at it.

Just sayin, been "bush hogging" things to make life a whole lot easier. Getting ahead vs constantly spinning wheels on the time management. It pays off.

Looking to hit some new woods today, scouting and possibly setting up a 50 yd handgun range with the #3 son. And we're putting a window unit AC in his garage. All his handloading stuff is inside so the garage is just for working on tractor and his farm truck. No point in sweating? Get away from the women folk, sneak off down in the woods N shoot handguns:evil:

Hi...
Still go to one or the other of the two gun clubs I have memberships in at least once a week.
The one club was closed due to the pandemic for a while but that didn't last very long.
Be leaving shortly to go to breakfast and then off to the gun club for a few hours.

I have a spare room for my reloading and hunting stuff.
Brush hogging is easier. But selling square bales makes enough profit to pay the house payment for the year.
It also keeps me in shape so I don't get tired when I'm deer hunting.
I'll be doing load development next week.

Jealous of the folks that have a lot of land, I'd be shooting every day. I haven't been to the range since March, though I have been reloading and stocking up. Our ranged is opened, so I just need to go at this point. My wife hasn't been up to going, so I guess I'll have to go alone.

Color me green!
I wish I could make the mortgage by mowing the lawn!
I love mowing. Paid recreation!:D

:)Yeah, farming is not paid recreation. I don’t care to see another Asparagus in my hand, as opposed to my fork, ever again!:)

(I couldn’t stand letting the grass get that tall.
OCD Lawn Powers, ACTIVATE!
Form of, DRIVEWAY EDGER!)

Yes, got called back to full-time two weeks ago.

So, fifty hours a week for that, getting my house ready to paint, and the never ending rainy season mowing needing done my gun time of any type has faded away to nearly nothing for the foreseeable future.

It's paid recreation for me. I work a full time job and run a hobby farm.
My two year old helps me keep it running.
He also had a toy rifle that he shoots when I do. It's funny seeing him run around saying don't point it at brother.
