I need 4 TX-22's for customers and none of my distributors have any. I did get my hands on one that my friend who owns the LGS let me have. I was impressed and will be glad when I can find one for me.
Here’s that review I did.I know Gunny did quite a good review of the TX22 and I think another thread comparing it to the G44. He also did a good review of the G44.
When I bought my Glock G44 a few months ago the only other semiautomatic that was available locally was the GSG Firefly (rebranded Sig Mosquito). Needless to say I went with the G44 over the Firefly. I have been very happy with it. I still wouldn't mind checking out the Taurus TX22 as long as the trigger is NOT anything like the old Taurus 24/7 pistols.
16 round mags are plentiful. About $21 bucks each. Checkout GrabAGun online.Well I went gun store hopping for ammo and found a TX22 for $270. I hate the fact I had instant approval but since im still waiting for my CWP, I'll have to wait til next Sunday to get it. They had extra mags for $17, but when I got home I noticed the package said 10 rds. Debating on whether to try and return and see if they have the 16 rd ones or live with it. Kinda lost on why they'd even sell the 10rd ones in a state with no mag restriction
I was lucky to pick up a second one online from the Black Dog Gun store. The new version comes without a safety. My son will be using the other one. Plenty of mags are available from GrabAGun online for $25 bucks.View attachment 931978
I haven’t found a 22 semiautomatic that likes CCI Quiet.Taurus offers them with or without the thumb safety, used to be able to get the one you preferred, but now...lucky to see one on a shelf.
My TX has proven to be a way better value than the G44. The TX will shoot almost anything, though mine doesn't seem to like CCI Quiet.
.....
The barrel issues with the Taurus TX22 are a thing of the pass, unless you are buying a used one. Taurus found someone different to make their barrels.

I like mine quite a bit. Very accurate and the trigger is really nice. I was worried about it being a Taurus, but not I'm happy to have it.
Piece of crap, ask any Taurus hater. They're so bad I bought two. Seriously a great .22. I'm something of a .22 handgun impulse buyer so I end up good and bad. The two TX22's are all good. Does excellent with any .22 ammunition. It won't out shoot my Ruger MKII or KadeT Kit, but an accurate fun plinker. .EnjoView attachment 931601 y!
Onions don't make me cry, Taurus making a better .22 than Glock makes me cry!
Absolutely agree. One bad incident, and now the sky is falling!Unfortunately, a lot of folks can't keep their singular bad experience in perspective. One issue becomes a global pandemic underscoring the end of the world as we know it.
I chose the Taurus over the Glock and would do so again.

It happens whenever Taurus or any budget priced gun is mentioned. You'll have the Sig, Glock, etc fanboys who aren't interested and who do not like the company is question who will do their best to derail a thread and try to tell everyone else they're pistol isn't worthy...Kind of silly to keep this going, I know. Pretty simple. If you think the G44 is a better buy, by all means get one. Do watch out for the first round FTF and the ejector flying off and the cracked frames and slides. This can happen with any firearm. It wouldn't stop me from buying a G44 if I liked the gun which I don't. I think it will be an also ran in the scheme of things. It just doesn't do anything better than a dozen other .22 semi-automatics. Just my opinion of course. The TX22 IS better. Not a Glock hater. The G21 is my second favorite .45 and the G17 does everything it's supposed to. I thing Glock seriously dropped the ball with the G44.
