These M&P fans are making us look bad....8 Pages of pictures of M&P's and great reviews. Now we all know that glocks are obviously better but lets see why.

Glocks are certainly not better. They were innovative, but now S&W has out-Glocked the Glock.

just a few of the glock collection. i haven't taken a picture of the rtf2 10 yet
oh glock 21 gen 4, glock 30 sf, glock 26 gen 4.

It has put a dent in the leo market for glock. egronomics are nice. it will be even better when the new trigger from the factory comes out. still not as good imo than the glock. after all....it was made after the one and only

Now we all know that glocks are obviously better but lets see why

i know that you're sorta kidding, but Glocks have stopped being the "the best" for a long time now--yeah Glock started something big back around 1980, but that design has remained virtually unchanged since then, and there are now many better options available.

people will keep buying Glocks because of the name, but the quality and price of a new Glock has not been worth it for at least the past 5 years...JMHO

Never hated on glock...just never shot them well...Me+Glocks grip angle = Bad shooting! Other than that I do love the glock story and how they rewrote pistol history being the first polymer pistol that was more reliable then any other pistol in history!

by quality.....you mean? and what would be your better options.....as far as say.....LEO firearm?
like i said m&p are good, xd is ok, sigs are good....I like those as well. I truly do just trust my glock more. i love the tennifer and the polymer frame....

we go back all the way to just sheer function and less moving parts....simplicity....i'm not talking about grip angle or how asthetically pleasing they are. they just work. now 1911's are tried and trued.....really though M&P are good guns....never shot one with an apex trigger, but i imagine when the new trigger comes out from the factory they'll be even closer to glocks functionality. tell you what! I just love my firearms....no matter what they are as long as they fire.

Sorry, I'm on the iPod so no pics right now. I will probably always choose Glocks as a primary duty pistol as long as I have the choice, and I'm switching to a G27 soon for off duty. That all said, I think Glock has lost their top spot in the world. I think they are well established to keep going for a very long time, but they need to do some more innovating to stay competative.

@gunnutery

who took the top spot?
I agree with everything except for the lost it's top spot

S&W does NOT support the LEO community like Glock does. Got personal experience with this one. They do make some fine handguns though. Got an M&P and like the ergonomics, but overall I like Glock better. I prefer a striker pistol that is not fully cocked all the time.

Glock grip angle. I keep hearing that. I shoot Glocks, CZ's, BHP's, S&W 3rd gen autos, Walther P99, 1911's........well, you get it. I never have a problem with any of them. The grips are different. I just adapt. Don't own an M&P yet, but why would I need to? Will it do something that a Glock WON'T do?

I don't need to take pictures of my Glock to know it's a great gun. I also don't need 8 pages of 'reviews' to convince me they're great guns, either.

All fairness to S&W, Glock charges about $400 to LEO and upwards of $600 for civilians. M&P's are sold fairly cheap and does not raise the price for civilians by about another $200 or so. I say that because all us Glock owners know that Glocks are way over priced for the same gun that's been running for almost 3 decades.

I am a fan of both. I currently own Glocks right now but I do want an M&P9L and an M&P9c as well. I have heard the trigger on the M&P leaves a lot to be desired. When I buy mine I will be installing APEX kits in them. But both have reputations for reliability. The DEA tested both brands extensively and they both performed well. At this point it comes down to Glock or Smith and Wesson being very nearly the same. One has better ergonomics but less support for customers and parts are not as widely available. The other is the opposite. So pick your poison.

Most Glock models are $499 all day, every day, 'round here.

I paid $480+tax for my M&P9.

Figuring for inflation, Glocks are still pretty cheap.
$499 in 2010=$263.53 in 1987

Anyone remember what a G17 cost when they debuted?

I think the XD on the civilian market is in third place and quickly gaining ground. I've been seeing more and more of them and seen a lot more XD's then M&Ps at my shooting range.

Oh yeah, Glocks aren't the best by the way, sorry to break it to you.

I did a review on it not to long ago, and everyone was giving me a hard time. I asked the law enforcement sells director at S&W and he sent two people an email regarding the same info. As far as i know it will be a shorter trigger with a better reset. I think imo that it'll be completely different looking. Like glocks/xd/fns
speaking of that the new fns is an awesome trigger I can't say it enough

I pull my glock out and pull the trigger with confidence that bullets will come out the end and go whatever I aim. How does the Croatian wornder with a bunch of superfluous crap added do any better?

Oh! I know it's because rob latham spends a couple hours a week on guntalk shilling for the Slavic special.

I'm eternally amused at how the hs2000 was widely regarded as a flaming piece of poo until S.A. comes along and starts marketing the thing and VIOLA the best handgun ever. Used by militaries and police agencies all across Croatia .

The s&w m&p is an impressive pistol. But the fact remains that it doesn't do a darn thing even the oldest gen1 glock doesn't do. 30years to improve on the original glock design and what do we have from glock and its competition today as an improvement? The interchangeable backstrap. THATS IT!

so for me the glock is still on top. They set the bar and in 30 years it has yet to be raised.
