Funny, the same news reports say he went to Camp David that day after playing golf in the morning.

It doesn't seem impossible for him to have done both on the same day.

Also, if you pull up the Camp David skeet field, it looks like it has a trap house in the middle too, so who knows what he was shooting.

I don't see that sentiment in any of the replies so far. The point of the thread was the timing and pandering nature of the photo release after he claimed to go "skeeting all the time" (or however he said it).

I seriously doubt that even his biggest fans believe that he shoots all the time. It's all about "optics", as his crowd likes to call it.

ETA: ok, one poster seems have the sentiment I just referred to, but I'm sure you understand my point.
 
the other is that it looks like he's leaning back, like some women have a tendency to do. That's what stood out to me. (No offense to any of the lady shooters on the board)

Not just women, most novice shooters shoot leaning back like that. He also has the gun way too high on his shoulder.

He could be shooting trap, but certainly not skeet. I would bet he was just firing a shotgun for a photo op, and not aiming at anything in particular.
 
Wow! for someone who shoots skeet "all the time," he has terrible form.
I've seen small children shoulder a gun for their first time and have much better form than that.
 
Photo OP!!! First off you're gonna need more than 1 choke in that pig for skeet Mr President. Second, Where's his ammo pouch, or does the Ammo Fairy come...
 
My ported Browning 525 throws hot gas from both sides of the barrel. Am I just not seeing gas on the photographers side of the gun? For doubles it's advisable to have chokes in both tubes, not just the upper. Maybe he's just shooting informal clay targets and not a formal round of Skeet. Whatever...

It's nice to see POTUS apparently wants us to think he likes to shoot Skeet, but that has little to do with the 2nd Amendment.
 
They have also deliberately removed the exif data from the picture so who knows when it was actually taken?

Not that exif data isn't easily modified, but the exif data is intact on the original image.

It's not like he puts serious effort/hours into his day job. Probably had a few hours to kill between vacations.


(I stink at shooting clays, so I won't chime in on the question of form)
 
It's probably a legit photo --- who cares??

Al Gore has a 10,000 square foot house - he doesn't want you to have one, though.

Obama "enjoys" skeet - who cares, he doesn't want you to be able to defend yourself with a 15 round XD9.



Think on this one- A total psychotic has a brace of double barreled shotguns in your child's elementary school. None of the teachers or staff are armed and the police are 10 minutes away. Do you feel OK with that?

This really is divide and conquer. It's not like people in the UK are allowed to defend their houses with double barreled shotguns anymore. Their guns have to be either locked at the club or stored in an "approved" manner in their house -- and that's the lucky few who pass the background checks, police inquiry and neighbor references.
 
Other than the caption, I see nothing in the photo that would convince me the shooter is Barack Obama. The facial features are pretty well obscured by sunglasses and the stock.
 
I will admit that I do not shoot skeet but don't you usually aim higher?

He didn't know you were supposed to shoot at them in the air instead of letting them hit the ground first. :D
