Sp 101 in the lock box next to the bed. Flash light and cell phone charging on night stand.

An alarm clock.

It is illegal in the State of Texas to keep a gun without a locking device where I child can get to it.

My home defense gun is kept in a locked container nearby.

On the wife's side of the bed, there is a 4" Taurus 82 in .38 Special in the top nightstand drawer.
On my side, it is the gun I'm carrying at the time. When it comes off, it goes on the nightstand. Most of the time it is a compact 9mm, but sometimes a pocket sized .380. Not the best I grant you, but that's how I usually do it.

Actually, nothing of a defensive nature is on my night stand. I keep such things elsewhere, better hidden. Nearby, of course, but not on the night stand.

The flip answer is,,,
My alarm clock.

I keep nothing on the nightstand,,,
My bedroom gun is a Bersa 9mm with a light,,,
It lives in an uncle Mike's holster that is screwed to the bed-frame.

Right where my hand would drop.

I thought it went without saying --- I thought everyone one here on THR was very responsible and securing their firearms appropriately. What's on your nightstand" was just a figure of speech. For the record mine resides in a quick access liberty.

I thought so too. And what is appropriate for securing my firearms in my house might not be appropriate in someone, or anyone else's house. I've said it before - the youngest person normally in this house is my 65 year old wife, and she knows how to use most guns as well as I. Occasionally one or more of our grandchildren are here, but the youngest one of them is 16, and well versed in firearm safety too. In fact, sometimes when they're here, I take the Smith 1911 from the bottom shelf of my nightstand when we all go shooting down at the gravel pit.:)

What's on my nightstand?

NIghtstand.JPG

At night it would be;
My cell phone - Not pictured
My glasses - Not pictured
Glass of water - Not pictured
Clock radio/alarmLamp
Coaster
Flashlight
Notepad & pen for making notes at night when I have those flashes of inspiration
Emergency lantern - LED type

Glock 26 - 9MM
Do they make a Glock 26 chambered in any other caliber? I mean, aside from dropping in a replacement barrel a Glock 26 IS a 9mm pistol and correct me if I'm wrong but I thought you could go down, like dropping a 9mm barrel in a Glock 27 but you can't go up so a Glock 26 would always be chambered in 9mm, right?

Call Glock or a good gun shop.
I always thought the number is what it is & you would need a new number gun to change caliber

Actually my SR45 in post #26 is inside my nightstand drawer. No children live here, although my wife may beg to differ when she gets annoyed with me.

When the grandchildren visit, the Ruger gets locked in the safe.

Whatever book I am reading. Glasses. Glass of water. Pocket change. A flashlight. Like many of you I screwed a holster into the back side of a small dresser, so all the clutter that builds up on my night stand never interferes with my ability to get to my gun.

If I didn't have my SIG P229R already to go with night sights and a laser/light combo for HD duty, my Ruger SR9c would have been pretty much configured the same way you have yours set up.
