I think I am in the right spot need info on savage receivers

I am looking for information on sellers who carry savage receivers ( the whole bolt action assembly) I cant seem to find any... does Savage keep them close to the vest or is there just not that much call for them? I have plans to do a couple of savage rifle builds but If I can get away from having to buy the whole donor rifle that would be better as I wont need the synthetic stock ,,the original tube..etctra
 
One of my old customers sold them, I believe it was Northlands Shooters Supply.
 
A lot of people buy a Savage 12FV from Cabela's (now at Bass Pro too) when on special then sell the barrel. I got mine for $300 after rebate and several got theirs for $275. Great action to build on and includes the Accu-Trigger. I kept my barrel and threw it on a Chassis.
 
The last Savage PTA I bought was straight from Savage to my local FFL. It was ran effectively as a custom shop deal, but then again, that was ~10yrs ago, so many things could have changed.

NSS is a pretty reliable source for them, however, and often without the wait time I had from Savage.
 
wow I was just at walmart and they have a savage axis 243 win for 254.00 plus tax... cant beat that I guess
 
You can find some older complete Savage or Stevens rifles for around 300 after transfer, and have the benefit of the top bolt release and stagger feed.
