Orlando is just different that's all. The ladies of north Florida when I was coming up would have said of the city "Isn't that just special"
My wife used to work in a law firm right down town so we would on occasion walk to Jungle Jim's down town for lunch and while she was recovering from an auto acceident I hung around a week or ten days to help her out. You know Judges do not care if your wrist is broken and hip and knee displaced and car totaled, they set a date and time and that's it.
Any how it gave me the opertunity to stroll about the city....yes I went to the custom shoe store that made sneakers for Shaq. they even had one on display. Obviously the Magics captured big foot and taught him to play B ball!
I stopped by a club theater and their were pictures up on the wall of my favorite waiter at a Chinese restaurant in Gainesville billed as the Vietnamese Elvis. Turns out next week I went to "The Empress OF China" ( Not to worry San Fransisco, not gonna take much of your business) and ask him to sing I can't help falling in love with you....and he was rather good for an ex ARVN.
Another day (back before I joined my church) I got to feeling a bit dry and was trying to decide which nasty little eight table bar to wander into by reading their beer menus to see what was of interest. Heard some Jimmy Buffet a door or two down and realized it was not a recording. Some one was doing a pretty good Buffet imitation. What the heck, what are the chances of finding some German small village wheat beer in a grubby little bar in Orlando and I like Buffet so I strolled into the open door way.... and saw Jimmy Buffet sitting on a stool on stage playing an acoustical that some one had just left sitting there between sets
BTW my wife used to be a member Range Safety Officer at the Orange County rifle and pistol whatcha macallit and we never seen no SHow Cat while SHE was working. Did have an interesting discussion with a tech 9 user once out there.
Today on the way down on the Florida Turn Pike (toll road) the most oft seen bill board was for a place that rents machineguns for use on their range for as low as $24.95 out on international drive, wow, visit the Mouse and Shamu, eat rubber chicken with Midievel Knights while they joust and sword fight, then shop at huge outlet malls AND shoot real machineguns all in one day..... nope nothing odd about Orlando! Hey, maybe they gots a CSRG 1915 or 1918!!!!
